Eight for the Eights

Level 39 : Blinds 1,000,000/1,500,000, 1,500,000 ante

Aaron Massey opened to 3,000,000 from early position holding KQ, and his only customer was Kevin Eyster, who flatted the bet from the cutoff with 88.

Massey then continued for 1,700,000 on the 45A flop, which was called by Eyster, and the two both saw the 9 turn. Here, Massey slowed down with a check, and Eyster took the initiative with a bet of 8,000,000. It brought a quick fold from Massey.

Alsup Wins 'El Clásico'

Level 39 : Blinds 1,000,000/1,500,000, 1,500,000 ante
Rich Alsup
Rich Alsup

Richard Alsup raised to 3,500,000 from middle position. Action folded around to Nikolaos Angelou, who announced all in, covering Alsup's near-50,000,000 stack. Alsup didn't wait for too long before making the call.

Richard Alsup: QQ All in
Nikolaos Angelou: AK

It was the classic flip in a massive spot, and the 543 flop afforded some additional outs to Angelou in the form of a straight draw. The 3 turn changed nothing, with Alsup only having one card to fade in order to scoop a massive one.

The Q river was overkill, as he improved to top boat, and breathed a sigh of relief as he raked in the near nine-figure pot.

Arthur Teisseire

Matthew Miller raised to 3,500,000 from under the gun and Arthur Teisseire moved all in for 23,000,000 from the cutoff. Andrew Moreno announced all in as well, for less than Teisseire.

Action folded to Miller, who asked for counts and talked to himself a little bit before making the call.

Andrew Moreno: AK All in
Arthur Teisseire: A10 All in
Matthew Miller: QQ

"Why you gotta speech me with queens?" Moreno asked, who was flipping for his tournament life. Miller found himself in a great spot to score two eliminations, despite having "thought about folding."

The flop came extremely safe for him, with neither of the other players connecting on 426. The 7 turn had him just a card away from securing a massive pot, and the 5 river brought his chip stack to almost nine figures as both of his opponents hit the rail.

Mckellar Turns It

Level 39 : Blinds 1,000,000/1,500,000, 1,500,000 ante

Action was picked up on a flop of 2108 with middle position opener Andrew Moreno and big blind defender Pierce Mckellar contesting the 8,500,000 chip pot. Action went check-check, which brought the A turn.

Here, Mckellar checked a second time, and Moreno opted to slide 4,400,000 into the middle. Mckellar called, and the two saw a 7 fall on the river.

Action checked through again, and Mckellar showed his A8 had gotten the better of Moreno's 109 on the turn,as the chips were sent in his direction.

"Interesting hand," Moreno commented.

John Ripnick opened to 2,400,000 before Alen Bakovic shoved for 8,200,000 total. Ripnick called to put Bakovic at risk.

Alen Bakovic: AJAll in
John Ripnick: AQ

Bakovic was in trouble, but the flop gave him some additional outs when it came 7810 for a gutshot straight draw.

The A turn kept Ripnick in the lead, and the K river did not help Bakovic as he was eliminated in 14th place.

Bakovic earned $75,000 for his finish.

Georato Fades Ultimate Cooler

Level 39 : Blinds 1,000,000/1,500,000, 1,500,000 ante

Aaron Massey opened to 3,200,000 from the cutoff, before big blind Robert Georato moved all in for slightly more than 10,000,000. Massey shrugged and called.

Robert Georato: KK All in
Aaron Massey: K3

Massey was in just about the worst preflop spot possible, having only 10% equity to his name. However, this number increased to 36% on the Q72 flop, as he picked up a flush draw. Georato managed to fade the massive sweat on the 97 runout, as he lived to fight another day.
