Stacked Field Returns for Day 2 of $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Paris Secondary Poker Room
Paris Secondary Poker Room

Out of the 980 players that flocked to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas for Event #32: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em, only 296 players are returning today, June 10, at 12 p.m. local time for Day 2. With registration open until the end of the first two levels today (until about 2:15 p.m.), these numbers are expected to increase.

The chip lead belongs to Joao Coelho (695,000), and close behind is Yan Kan (595,000). Closing the podium positions in third place is Johan Schumacher (520,000).

Making the top five is 25K Fantasy Draft pick Dong Chen (460,000), who is in a good position to run deep in the tournament. Chen has already made it in the money twice this summer in the $550 Mini Mystery Millions and the $1,700 U.S. Circuit Championship. With this trend continuing, a third cash seems highly likely, further adding to what has already been a profitable series.

In the top ten with Chen are formidable opponents, including, Johan Schumacher (520,000), recent bracelet winner Antonio Vargas (442,500), Jean-Robert Bellande (422,000), and Niall Farrell (409,500). Vargas, who recently won the $1,700 No Limit Hold'em - Circuit Championship, will be looking to add another bracelet before the summer ends and is now well poised to do so.

Other notables that advanced to Day 2 are Bradley Jansen (368,500), Barry Shulman (302,000), Nick Pupillo (274,500), Stoyan Madanzhiev (259,000), Joe McKeehen (214,500), Brian Yoon (179,000), James Obst (169,500), and Chance Kornuth (167,000).

Chris Moorman (60,600), Michel Molenaar (52,000), and David Peters (50,000) also made it into Day 2. They will be facing an uphill climb, but given their skill and experience, they are more than capable of making a comeback.

The day will start at Level 11 with blinds at 1,000/2,500/2,500, and they will play through ten levels with breaks every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 16 (~6:30 p.m.).
