Hopkins Finds a Double

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Gus Hansen potted to 7,000 from the hijack and only Darrell Hopkins called on the button.

On the Q43 flop, Hansen led for 5,000, Hopkins potted, and Hansen took a while before he stuck the rest, and Hopkins called off his 51,500 remaining stack.

Darrell Hopkins: KKQ3 All in
Gus Hansen: A754

Hopkins had two pair along with his overpair, while Hansen had middle pair with straight draws and low potential. However, the board would run out Q4, and low bricked while Hopkins improved to a full house, and he collected the full double.

Racener Falls To Costa

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

After Thomas Koral called in the hijack, John Racener raised to 8,500 in the cutoff and Christopher Costa called on the button.

The flop rolled out J54 and Racener jammed all in for 11,000 and Costa called.

John Racener: A532 All in
Christopher Costa: QJ108

Costa's hand held up J5 runout and the WSOP bracelet winner exited the tournament.

Costa Holds to Bust Hoenig

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Ryan Hoenig had opened under the gun before Walter Chambers three-bet to 15,000 from the cutoff. In the big blind, Christopher Costa repotted to 61,000. Hoenig flatted, and Chambers took quite some time before he elected to fold.

On the 885 flop, Costa led and Hoenig called all-in for his final 76,000 or so.

Ryan Hoenig: AJ92 All in
Christopher Costa: AAK10

Hoenig held the nut low draw with some backdoors, while Costa was ahead with the aces. Unfortunately for Hoenig, the board ran out 9K, and the aces held for Costa to eliminate Hoenig in a huge one.

Ryan on Ryan Violence

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a flop of Q64, Ryan Bambrick from early position and Ryan Hughes from middle position got their stacks into the middle, with Hughes the effective stack for 65,000 total, including the preflop wager.

Ryan Hughes: KK65 All in
Ryan Bambrick: A632

Hughes held an overpair against the middle pair, gutter, and nut low draw of Bambrick. However, the board would run out 10K, improving Hughes to a set as the low bricked out and Hughes got the full double,

Hoenig Bluffs and Kelsall Rebluffs

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Andrew Kelsall
Andrew Kelsall

Andrew Kelsall opened to 4,000 from early position and Ryan Hoenig defended his big blind.

On the QJ5 flop, Hoenig led for 3,000 and Kelsall called.

Hoenig then checked the 10 turn. Kelsall put out a bet of 10,000 before Hoenig clicked it to 22,000. A few seconds later, Kelsall announced all-in for around 75,000.

Hoenig smiled as he flipped over KK, blockers to the straights, and folded the rest of his hand after a failed bluff.

However, as it turns out Kelsall took it one step further, tabling AAA8, for trip aces in his hand being further blockers to broadway.

"Old guy's not quite dead yet," Kelsall joked as he raked in the chips.

Noori Doubles Through Usterud

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Action was picked up with Michael Noori all in and at risk from the button against Stian Usterud in the first position.

The board read KJ6 and Noori was all in and at risk for 42,700.

Michael Noori: QJ108 All in
Stian Usterud: AK22

Brutal River Sends Conrad Packing

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a flop of J53, Raymond Bentley had a bet 5,000 in front of him from the cutoff before Chris Conrad check-potted to 36,000 from the big blind, and Bentley put in the call.

The turn brought the 9 as Conrad jammed for his final 22,500 and Bentley called to put him at risk.

Chris Conrad: AJ52 All in
Raymond Bentley: AQ64

Conrad had two pair with the nut low draw, while Bentley just had an open-ender with an inferior low draw.

In absurd fashion, the 2 fell on the river, one of only three scoop outs for Bentley, as he made a straight six and a wheel to scoop.
