Kalas Gets No Action with Quads

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

After a few limps, Kane Kalas potted to 2,000 in the big blind, and he was called by Carlo Van Ravenswood from under the gun and Tobias Leknes in the hijack.

On the QJ8 flop, it checked to Leknes who bet 3,200 and only Kalas called.

The J turn as well as the 6 river checked through. Kalas flipped over AJJ2 for quad jacks, and the table shared a laugh as he collected an unfortunately modest pot.

Royal Flush for PLO8 Specialist Normand

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action picked up on a completed board of AQJ10K in a pot between Frederic Normand in the big blind and Jon Kyte in the hijack. Each player had 5,000 in front of them, and there was 6,800 in the middle.

Normand led for pot of 16,800, the majority of his remaining chips. After a minute's tank, Kyte reluctantly tossed in the call.

"Royal," Normand announced, tabling AK52 for a Royal Flush, and he dragged a big one to bring himself back to almost starting stack.

Zinno Gets it All with Trips

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Mack Lee from the hijack and Anthony Zinno on the button were heads-up in a single-raised pot with the board reading A1082 on the turn with 2,000 in front of each player.

Lee check-called a pot-sized bet of 5,000 from Zinno on the turn.

The river brought the 8 as Lee checked for a final time to Zinno who bet 10,000 and Lee snap-called.

"Just trips," Zinno announced as he tabled QJJ8 for trip eights with a queen kicker, but no low. However, Lee could not find half of the pot, and he mucked his hand to give Zinno the scoop.

The field has grown to over 110 entries halfway through Level 2.

Defending Champ Chops One

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Defending champion of the event Philip Sternheimer has recently taken his seat, and he has taken little time to get into the mix.

Action picked up on the A33 flop with over 11,000 in the middle preflop. Philip Sternheimer bet 3,800 from the small blind, Naseem Salem called in the big blind, and Frederic Normand folded under the gun,

On the 2 turn, Sternheimer bet 12,000. Salem would then jam, and Sternheimer snap-called.

Naseem Salem: K542 All in
Philip Sternheimer: AA74

Salem had a wheel for the low and Sternheimer held aces full, and the 7 river meant that Salem secured half the pot.
