The registration period for the tournament has closed as Level 13 begins.
A total of 390 entries were tallied, narrowly edging out last year's 386 to set a new record. 155 players remain as the action gets back underway.
The $3,627,000 prize pool information will be posted once it is made available.
Level: 13
Blinds: 2,000/4,000
Ante: 4,000
The players have gone on a 15-minute break.
Pomjun Cha raised to 8,500 from middle position to see James Daniloff call on the button and Hal Rotholz called in the big blind.
Action checks through on the 9♣7♥3♣ flop to the turn 8♥ where Rotholz bet 11,000 and received two calls.
On the river 7♦, Rotholz bet 12,000 and both of his opponents called.
Rotholz tabled K♥K♠10♥8♠ for kings up, which was no good against Daniloff's A♦10♦6♥2♦ for a ten-high straight. Cha showed A♠9♠8♦4♦ for an eight-low and he chopped the pot with Daniloff.
Phil Hui from middle position and Joao Vieira from the cutoff saw the 7♠5♦4♦ flop after each player committed 16,500 preflop. The remainder of Hui's 75,000 or so chips found their way into the middle, and he was at risk as the slightly covered stack.
Phil Hui: A♦K♣10♦3♠
Joao Vieira: A♣J♠7♥2♣
Hui had second nut low and the nut flush draw against the top pair and nut low of Vieira. The board ran out 8♣6♥, leaving Vieira's pair of sevens best for the high, and Hui could not salvage half the pot as he was eliminated.
There was roughly 75,000 in the middle preflop as Ted Jackson-Spivack from early position, Ariel Mantel from the hijack, and Jeff Madsen from the button saw a flop of 8♦7♠5♦. All of the chips found their way into the middle, with Mantel the effective stack of 89,000.
Ariel Mantel: A♠4♣2♠2♦
Ted Jackson-Spivack: A♦6♠6♦4♥
Jeff Madsen: A♣8♥3♥2♣
Both Mantel and Madsen had a made nut low, while Jackson-Spivack held the nut flush draw.
The board ran out 9♦Q♦, giving Jackson-Spivack the nut flush while the others got one quarter with their nut low, and the side pot was chopped.
Danny Chang raised to 10,000 from under the gun and in the big blind, Walter Chambers called in the big blind.
The flop rolled out A♠J♣6♥ and Chambers check-called a bet of 13,000.
Chambers checked the turn J♦ over to Chang who bet 20,000 and Chambers.
Belarmino De Souza potted to 10,500 from the hijack and only Bryce Yockey called on the button.
The J♦4♣2♠ flop checked through to the 10♠ turn, which saw De Souza check-call a bet of 20,000 from Yockey.
De Souza took some time before he checked the Q♥ river, Yockey went all-in for just over 25,000, and De Souza quickly called.
Bryce Yockey: A♥K♣J♣10♦
Belarmino De Souza: AxQx5x2x
Yockey turned top two and rivered broadway as he collected the full double from De Souza, who flashed his holdings before mucking.
