Fourth Street Blues; Fifth Street Elation
Level 42
: 1,500,000/3,000,000, 3,000,000 ante
Min Ji opened to 5,500,000 from the hijack before Justin Smith called from the big blind.
Smith checked the 4♥J♦8♦ flop before Ji continued for 4,000,000. Smith check-raised to 10,000,000 in response. Ji jammed and was called by Smith, who put himself at risk for 37,000,000.
Justin Smith: A♠A♥
Min Ji: Q♥Q♦
Smith and Ji both held monster hands, but Smith had the best of it with his rockets.
That all changed when Ji smacked the turn when the Q♠ hit to give him the overwhelming lead with one card to go.
Before the table could finish their reaction to the turn, the river was even more dramatic as the A♦ came to give Smith a set of aces to stay alive.
