Aharoni Gets an Unexpected Double
Bruno Furth raised to 420,000 under the gun and Doug Lorgeree called in the small blind.
The flop came 2♦5♠J♣ and Lorgeree potted to 1,080,000. Furth turned over A♥A♦ and tossed them into the muck, surrendering the pot to Lorgeree.
A few hands later, Furth raised to 360,000 in the small blind and Daniel Aharoni reraised to 1,080,000 in the big blind. Furth then potted to 3,240,000, and Aharoni called.
Furth moved all in on the 10♠4♠2♥ flop, and Aharoni let out a deep sigh and shook his head before calling off his last chips.
Daniel Aharoni: A♥Q♥J♦6♦2♣
Bruno Furth: A♦A♣J♥10♣5♣
Furth was ahead with his aces, and the 10♥ turn improved him to trips. The river came the 4♥ and he and Aharoni exchanged a fist pump as Aharoni was about to make his exit. It was Furth who then noticed that Aharoni had actually made a flush on the river to earn the double up for 4,535,000 total.
