Bates Shows a Bluff, Fal Shows Liberto a Wheel

Level 25

Omaha Hi-Lo

Donovan Bates limped in early, as did Adam Walter in the hijack, Andrew Yeh in the cutoff, Frederic Moss on the button, and Jonathan Nebbout in the big blind.

On the J95 flop, it checked to Yeh, who bet. Moss called, Nebbout folded, Bates called, and Walter folded.

The 8 turn checked through to the J river, which saw Bates lead out, getting quick folds from Yeh and Moss. Bates flipped over 7542 for just a pair of fives as he dragged the pot.

At the other table, Nikolai Fal made a wheel against Justin Liberto in Stud Hi-Lo, winning a large pot.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Action was picked up on the turn of a board reading 7JQ4. Jonathan Nebbout bet out, Tyler Phillips called all in, and both Dekel Balas and Frederic Moss stuck around for the call.

The river K checked through, and Nebbout tabled KQJ10 for top two. All cards had to be shown, with Balas holding A552 and Moss tabling A932. The two couldn't beat Nebbout, and neither could Phillips as his Ax6x6x2x was turned face down by the dealer, and Nebbout celebrated the win.

Stanislav Ivanov: 10367/1057 All in
Justin Liberto: 10754/999
Richard Bremer: 8A66/J83

Action was picked up on fifth street, with Richard Bremer betting out and Stanislav Ivanov announcing a raise, leaving just 45,000 behind. Justin Liberto called, Bremer raised, Ivanov moved all in, and Liberto called once more.

Bremer bet out on both sixth and seventh, with Liberto calling the first bet before raising seventh. Bremer called, and Liberto showed his opponents the bad news. He had made trips on seventh, beating the two pair that each opponent held.

"I don't know how you call that," said Bremer.

Yasoshima and Blumenthal Leave Hallock on Fumes

Level 24

Stud Hi-Lo

Soshi Yasoshima: XxXx / 4362 / Xx
Eddie Blumenthal: XxXx / 2644 / Xx
Joseph Hallock: XxXx / K887 / Xxfolded on seventh street

Action picked up on fourth as Hallock led and both opponents called.

He bet again on fifth, Yasoshima called, Blumenthal raised, and both called.

Hallock checked sixth to Yasoshima, who bet, showing a four-liner, and both called. Yasoshima bet again on seventh. Blumenthal called. Hallock folded, leaving himself just 50,000 behind.

Yasoshima had 1052 in the hole for a six-high straight and 6-5 low. Blumenthal had A93 for a better 6-4 low, and the pot was chopped.

The next hand, Hallock got the rest into the middle, and he could not find half the pot, and he was eliminated.

At the other table, DJ Buckley got his last few bets into the middle on third against two opponents, but he also could not salvage half the pot, and he was eliminated.

Blumenthal Hero Calls Correctly, Still Loses Big

Stud Hi-Lo

Tyler Phillips: XxXx/4626/Xx All in
Eddie Blumenthal: XxXx/QJ92/Xx
Todd Ivens: XxXx/QAJ10/Xx

Action was picked up on fifth, where Tyler Phillips bet out when checked to. Both Eddie Blumenthal and Todd Ivens called to see sixth, where Phillips picked up open sixes. He moved all in for 45,000; Blumenthal put out a full bet, and Ivens called to create a side pot.

Blumenthal then checked seventh, and Ivens bet out with four to a Royal Flush, putting Blumenthal deep into the tank. He eventually made the call.

Ivens could only produce the Q for a pair of queens, and Blumenthal triumphantly tabled 10K4 for a king-high straight to take the small side pot. Although he had sniffed out Ivens' bluff, it was Phillips who would have the last laugh, as his 655 in the hole equated to a boat, and with no player holding a low, he scooped a massive one.

Ivanov Sends Melancon Home

Level 24

Omaha Hi-Lo

Joseph Melancon moved all in under the gun, and received calls from both Stanislav Ivanov and Soshi Yasoshima in the blinds.

Action checked to the river on the 49A45 board, where Ivanov decided to bet out. Yasoshima folded, and Ivanov tabled the goods with 9632 for the wheel, meaning Melancon's A1063 was no good.
