"Let Me Go Home"
Ren Lin opened from the cutoff and Oliver Weis three-bet to 47,000. The pair saw the J♥7♠J♦ flop and with only 16,000 left behind Weis moved all in.
Lin picked up his hand and fanned it the air. Another player at the table said "No snap is a good sign.". Lin stood from the table and announced "I have five high ladies and gentleman." before doing some pot calculations. He asked the dealer to spread the chips and he was counting out loud. He made the call and tabled his cards.
Oliver Weis: K♣J♣8♣3♠
Ren Lin: 5♣4♥3♥2♣
Lin sitting with a backdoor flush draw, and five high but Weis had the best of it with trip jacks. There was no surprise that Weis took down the pot after seeing the 7♣ and 7♦ complete the board. Lin jested to Weis "You gamble too much..." with Weis responding, "I didn't play five high."
The next hand saw Lin move all in after facing an open from Bryce Yockey, and started singing to the table "Let me go home", and he said "I'll come back and play tomorrow."
Yockey called and Lin went to another showdown, this time with him at risk for his remaining 47,000.
Ren Lin: Q♠8♣7♠3♣
Bryce Yockey: A♦8♦7♣5♠
With Yockey holding an ace, Lin needed to pick up to stay alive. The A♣J♣K♥ flop brought in a flush draw for Lin, which was completed on the Q♣ turn. A 9♦ river didn't change the standings and Lin kept his seat in the tournament and span his stack back up to just over 100,000.
