The Biggest WSOP Winners Without a Bracelet

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
WSOP Bracelet
WSOP Bracelet

One question always gets asked in the build-up to the World Series of Poker (WSOP): who are the best players still chasing their first bracelet? It's something PokerNews looks at every year.

But here's another angle worth exploring. Which players have actually won the most money at the WSOP without ever getting their hands on one of poker's most coveted prizes?

Some players have racked up millions in WSOP earnings, building their totals on one monster score, while others have chipped away year after year grinding the series.

Zampas Zaps Vinokur

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Andreas Zampas limped in under the gun. Danny Wong followed suit in middle position, and Evan Krentzman tossed in calling chips on the button.

Big blind Michael Vinokur then made it 60,000 to go, which Zampas and Krentzman called. Vinokur committed his last 23,000 on the 6Q4 flop, which only Zampas called to force a showdown.

Andreas Zampas: KJ10Xx

Vinokur's top set was nullified when Zampas made a flush on the 210 runout, marking the end of his tournament.

"Straight"

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

There were roughly 360,000 chips in the pot on a flop of 10K3 when Joseph Curcio, in the small blind, checked to Stephen Hubbard in the big blind. Hubbard checked behind.

Curcio led for 100,000 when the 3 paired the board on the turn, and Hubbard called.

The 9 completed the board on the river, and Curcio checked. After a brief pause, Hubbard bet 75,000, and Curcio made the call.

“Straight,” Hubbard announced as he tabled AAQJ for a straight to win the pot.

Chen Forces a Fold

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Thomas Skaggs raised to 25,000 from under the gun, and James Chen called in the big blind.

Chen decided to lead for 15,000 when the flop came 653, and Skaggs called.

Chen did not slow down when the A was dealt on the turn, firing 40,000; this bet forced a quick fold from Skaggs.

Hannel Rivers Winner to Continue Spin-Up

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Aaron Duczak opened to 25,000 in early position and called when Christopher Hannel made it 90,000 to go in the cutoff.

Duczak then led out with a pot-sized bet on the 36J flop, and Hannel quickly called off his stack of 190,000.

Christopher Hannel: AK103 All in
Aaron Duczak: KQJ9

Duczak's top pair remained ahead on the 5 turn, but Hanel made tens and threes on the 10 river to lock up the pot.

Hannel started Day 2 with just seven big blinds, but after multiple prior double-ups, he ended the hand with an above-average stack.

Condon Takes Out Zech

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Alexander Condon made it 27,000 to play from the cutoff only to face a three-bet to 96,000 from Quirin Zech on the button, who left himself just 35,000 behind.

On the J510 flop, Condon bet out enough to put Zech all in, and he snap-called.

Quirin Zech: KK73 All in
Alexander Condon: A854

Zech was ahead with pocket kings, but needed to dodge a lot of outs. The 5 peeled off on the turn to send Condon into the lead with trips, and the 3 river didn't come to rescue Zech, who was sent to the rail.
