The remaining 24 players are now on a 60-minute dinner break.
Play will resume at 7:53 p.m.
Alexander Condon limped in under the gun. Justin Scott then raised to 110,000 in the hijack, which Condon called once it had folded back to him.
Condon checked the 6♣4♦2♦ flop over to Scott, who quickly committed his remaining 255,000. Condon instantly called, putting his neighbor at risk.
Justin Scott: A♥K♠8♣6♠
Alexander Condon: 9♦8♦7♥6♥
The 3♥ turn helped neither player, and the K♣ river upgraded Scott to two pair, securing his double-up.
Condon was left with just 95,000, which he got in from the big blind against small blind Jeff Madsen one hand later.
Alexander Condon: Q♠6♥6♣4♥
Jeff Madsen: A♥10♠3♠2♣
Madsen found an ace on the A♣5♠7♠5♣9♠ runout, enough to take the pot and eliminate Condon just before the players were sent on a dinner break.
The latest round of players sent to the cage.
There were roughly 410,000 chips in the pot on a flop of K♠A♣Q♥.
Dylan Weisman from early position announced "pot," on the 2♠ turn then counted out 415,000 chips. Ka Kwan Lau, after a short deliberation, made the call from the big blind.
Action went check-check on the 9♥ river, and Lau announced, "two-pair."
Weisman responded, "which two?"
Lau tabled A♦K♥J♦5♥ and scooped the pot.
Jesse Lonis kicked off the action with a raise to 85,000 under the gun. Jesse Stanlet flat-called in the hijack before Ari Engel squeezed in a three-bet to 375,000 on the button.
Lonis tossed in calling chips before Stanley moved in his stack of 580,000. Engel and Lonis both called, creating a huge pot as the 6♣9♦J♦ flop emerged from the deck.
Lonis then quickly moved all in, putting Engel at risk for 900,000. Engel spent a few minutes in the tank, eventually calling when the clock had been called on him.
Jesse Stanley: K♥K♣J♠9♠
Ari Engel: A♠A♥A♦10♦
Jesse Lonis: Q♠Q♦6♦4♠
Stanley had flopped two pair to take the lead, while Engel's aces were ahead for the significant side pot. The Q♥ turn changed everything, however, as Lonis spiked a set of queens.
The 5♥ river remained safe for him, and he knocked out both Stanley and Engel while securing a massive chip lead over the rest of the field.
Jeff Madsen limped from early position and action folded around to Justin Scott who made it 100,000 to play from the small blind.
Madsen made the call and the dealer flipped over the 9♠9♥K♥ flop. Scott moved all in for his last 130,000 and Madsen reluctantly tossed in the call.
Justin Scott: K♦K♠J♥4♣
Jeff Madsen: A♠J♠5♥3♥
Scott had hit the flop pretty well and the 6♠ turn and 9♣ river didn't change affairs to send him the pot for a double up.
Yang Wang raised in middle position, Maksim Pisarenko called in the big blind.
Action checked to the river on 6♥6♣10♦K♥J♦, Pisarenko decided to lead for 50,000 but to his surprise he was put all in for 160,000 more.
Pisarenko went deep into the tank before he called, Wang tabled a set with J♣J♥3♦A♣, Pisarenko tabled A♠4♠7♠6x.
Miguel Capriles made it 75,000 on the button. Jesse Stanley called in the small blind, after which the duo checked through the 2♦3♠6♥ flop.
Stanley checked again on the 6♣ turn, seeing Capriles fire a bet of 125,000 in response. Stanley raised it to 320,000, which Capriles swiftly called.
The 3♣ river was then checked to showdown. Stanley was reluctant to show, prompting Capriles to table K♣J♣9♠6♦ for trip sixes to take the pot.
Once upon a time, professional musician Scott Ian of the legendary metal band Anthrax had a side career as a sponsored poker player.
What began with a free trip to Las Vegas ended with Ian being mentored by poker royalty like Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke, landing a poker sponsorship, and playing online poker as much as 90 hours a week. The A-list guitarist would also occasionally play online poker on stage in the middle of concerts.
"I'm like, this guy is so smart, so fun," Hellmuth told PokerNews. "I was just struck by how great Scott is."
Ian, who is back on tour with Anthrax for the first time in a decade, recently opened up to PokerNews about his time as a sponsored poker pro. Read about the metal legend's poker journey and watch the full interview on YouTube.
