WSOP Bracelet

One question always gets asked in the build-up to the World Series of Poker (WSOP): who are the best players still chasing their first bracelet? It's something PokerNews looks at every year.

But here's another angle worth exploring. Which players have actually won the most money at the WSOP without ever getting their hands on one of poker's most coveted prizes?

Some players have racked up millions in WSOP earnings, building their totals on one monster score, while others have chipped away year after year grinding the series.

Rotholz Chips Up With Aces

Level 5

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Only Daniel Negreanu check-called a bet by Justin Liberto on the 995 flop and did so again on the 4 turn. Negreanu also checked the K river and then folded to a bet by Liberto.

Hal Rotholz then raised from an early position for Matthew Beinner and Liberto to call. Liberto then bet the J98 flop for both to call, as was the case on the 6 turn as well. Liberto checked the 8 river and Rotholz bet, Beinner folded and Liberto eventually called.

Rotholz revealed his AA55 and that won the pot.

Choi Jams into Vitch's Ace-Queen

Level 5

No-Limit Hold'em

It folded to Kevin Choi on the button who open-jammed for 60,500, and Christopher Vitch snap-called in the big blind.

Kevin Choi: A3 All in
Christopher Vitch: AQ

Choi was in rough shape and it became dire on the QJ4 flop. He was drawing dead on the A turn, and the 9 river was a mere formality as he exited shortly before the break.

Krela Gets Shorter; Baker Has Aces

David Baker
David Baker

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a four-way limped pot, the entire board of KJ1092 was checked down and Max Kruse in the small blind tossed only a deuce towards the middle of the dealer, indicating that bottom pair was his best hand.

David "ODB" Baker grimaced, "that was funny", but the pot went to Jonathan Krela with the QJ42x out of the big blind.

One hand later, Chance Kornuth limped and so did Krela. Baker then raised to 6,000 and picked up two callers to the A104 flop. Krela checked to Baker, who bet 12,000. Kornuth and Krela folded to get shown the AA, while Kruse mentioned he had folded pocket tens.
