Tang Shows Lonis a Boat

Level 5

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Danny Tang: XxXx / 8733 / Xx
Jesse Lonis: XxXx / JA8A / Xx

Both Tang and Lonis can generally be found battling in the No-Limit Hold'em high rollers, but today they are tangled up in some limit poker.

Action picked up on fifth after each player had put in one bet on the previous two streets, but it checked through on fifth.

Both made open pairs on sixth as Lonis led and Tang called. On seventh, Lonis led again before Tang announced, "All in," only ruled as a minimum raise, and Lonis shrugged as he called.

Tang revealed 753 in the hole for a full house, threes full of sevens, and Lonis flashed the A as he made three aces, but they were second-best.

"What the hell-y," is all the Lonis was able to mutter in the post-mortem.

Wattel Wins With Rough Eight

Level 5

2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Matt Vengrin raised under the gun, and received calls from Christopher Vitch on the button, Eli Elezra in the small blind, and Mike Wattel in the big blind.

Elezra tossed three cards, Wattel only needed one card, while Vengrin and Vitch each took two.

Wattel then led out with a bet, which Vengrin called. Vitch raised, folding out Elezra, and Wattel three-bet. Vengrin also decided to muck, after which Vitch called.

On the second draw, Vitch drew one card against the pat hand of Wattel. Wattel tossed in another bet, Vitch called, and the pair both patted on the final draw.

They then checked it to showdown, where Wattel announced a "very rough eight."

"Me too," Vitch replied for Wattel to table 8x7x6x4x3x.

Vitch must have had one of the two rougher eights out there, as he looked at his cards one last time before mucking his hand.

Limit Hold'em

Phil Hui raised under the gun, John Racener three-bet on the button, and Viktor Blom put in a fourth bet from the small blind. Hui and Racenere both called, after which the Q93 flop was fanned.

Blom continued with a bet, which was called by both opponents. He bet again on the J turn, but this time Hui raced. Racener had seen enough and mucked, but Blom called to see the 9 river.

Blom checked, Hui bet, and Blom tossed calling chips in Hui's direction. Hui could immediately add them to his stack as he showed JJ for a full house.

No-Limit Hold'em

Three-ways to the turn with the board reading 7438 and with 24,000 in the middle, Josh Arieh led for 9,000 from the big blind. Marco Johnson called from under the gun and Daniel Negreanu folded on the button.

On the 9 river, Arieh fired a massive overbet of 130,000 into the middle, over three times the pot. Johnson spent over three minutes in the tank before he finally elected to put in the call. He got the bad news as Arieh tabled J10 for the rivered nut straight, and he collected a substantial pot off Johnson.

Jonathan Krela raised on the button and called when David "ODB" Baker put in a third bet from the small blind. Baker tossed in another bet on the J7J flop, which Krela also called.

Both players then checked the Q turn to the 9 river, where Baker checked a third time. Krela decided it was time to bet and was swiftly looked up by Baker.

Krela sheepishly revealed Kx9x for jacks and nines, leaving the pot to Baker when he tabled AKK4 for on overpair.
