Tong Running Away With It

Level 21
Kristopher Tong
Kristopher Tong

No-Limit Hold'em

Blinds Kristopher Tong and Maxx Coleman were playing a limped pot on Q29. Tong checked to Coleman, who bet 75,000. Tong called before he led out for 225,000 on the J turn.

A puzzled Coleman decided to call, after which the 10 river was checked to showdown. Tong announced a straight and tabled 98 to prove it, winning the pot when Coleman mucked.

An orbit later, Tong limped in from the small blind again. Coleman once again checked his option, then bet 50,000 on the 4K4 flop after Tong checked.

Tong called, check-calling again when Coleman sized up to 175,000 on the 4 turn. Both players knuckled the J river to showdown, where Tong showed K9 to take yet another pot from Coleman.

Ivey Shows Some Emotion

Level 21

No-Limit Hold'em

Paul Volpe limped in from the small blind before Benny Glaser made it 200,000 from the big blind. Volpe came back with a raise to 700,000 and took down the pot.

A few hands later, Phil Ivey raised to 120,000 on the button. He called when Josh Arieh three-bet to 425,000 from the small blind.

It checked through to the river for the board to read 872Q9. Arieh check-called a bet of 500,000. Ivey announced a pair of nines, showing Kx9x but Arieh had him pipped with A9.

Ivey's face appeared to not have enjoyed that particular loss.

Level 21
Maxx Coleman
Maxx Coleman

2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Kristopher Tong raised in the small blind and Maxx Coleman called in the big blind. Tong took one while Coleman took two, Tong bet and Coleman called. The second draw was once again one versus two and Tong bet thereafter, Coleman called.

Tong then patted and Coleman took one card on the final draw. Both checked and Tong had 10x8x6x4x3x as the winning hand.

Coleman raised in the next hand for Nick Guagenti to defend the big blind. Both took two and Coleman check-called a bet. Coleman took two again while Guagenti patted and the former check-called a bet.

On the final draw, Coleman took one and Guagenti patted. Coleman then bet and that sent Guagenti into the tank.

"I wish this was on stream, so I could see the hand," Guagenti said after they were informed a few minutes earlier the production had been stopped for the day.

"Sorry, I haven't tanked all day long," Guagenti apologized to everyone else before he eventually folded.

Coleman then raised the very next hand for Jason Mercier to call from the big blind. Mercier took one versus two and bet, Coleman called. The drawing action repeated and Mercier's second bet was called once again.

On the final draw, Mercier patted while Coleman took one. Mercier bet to get called and announced an eight-seven-five to flip over the 8x7x5x4x2x. He was pipped by the smallest of margins as Coleman had the 8x7x5x3x2x.

Arieh and Glaser Battle in Triple Draw

Level 21

2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

Josh Arieh raised on the button, and Benny Glaser defended his big blind. They both took two cards, after which Glaser check-called a bet by Arieh.

They each drew one card on the second draw. Glaser then led out with a bet, and Arieh called. Glaser remained pat on the final draw, with Arieh taking one in response. Glaser tabled 8x7x5x3x2x, and Arieh mucked his hand.

A few hands later, the players were in the same positions when Arieh raised again. Glaser tossed in defending chips and drew two cards, prompting Arieh to only draw one.

After a check, bet, and call, Glaser requested one fresh card. Arieh stood pat in response, after which Glaser check-called another bet.

They then both remained pat on the final draw, and checked it to showdown after. Glaser showed a nine, but Arieh had the worst eight with 8x7x6x5x3x to rake in the chips.

Coleman Leaves Mercier on a Short Stack

Level 21

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Jason Mercier: XxXx / 82610 / Xx
Maxx Coleman: 64 / 35Q7 / 8

Jason Mercier check-called a bet on fourth street and Maxx Coleman then checked on fifth street when he picked up a queen. Mercier announced bet and Coleman declared raise for Mercier to call, as they proceeded to sixth street. Coleman bet and Mercier called but that's when things got tricky.

As pointed out by Kristopher Tong, they had the wrong amount of chips out for the fifth street action which should have been a full bet of 200,000 and a raise to 400,000. The floor discussed the situation with the players and even called the higher up floor before it was ruled that the chips in the pot stood as played and no additional 200,000 each were added for the previous mishap.

Only then they proceeded to seventh street on which Coleman bet, Mercier sigh-called and asked, "do you have the flush?"

Coleman had an eight high straight instead and scooped the pot with his low on top to leave Mercier short.
