Kwan Runs Into Kabrhel

Action folded to Martin Kabrhel in the hijack, who raised to 30,000. Chun Kwan defended in the big blind.

Kwan check-raised Kabrhel’s 30,000 bet to 110,000 on the 769 flop, and Kabrhel made the call.

The turn brought the 5 and this time Kwan led for 75,000, with Kabrhel again calling.

On the 3 river, Kwan fired a final bet of 150,000. After checking Kwan’s stack, Kabrhel announced all in, prompting an immediate snap-call.

Kwan tabled 98 for a straight, but Kabrhel revealed 108 for the higher straight, leaving Kwan with just crumbs.

“That’s why my grandmother always told me, never play eight-nine,” Kabrhel said.

In the very next hand, Kwan was automatically all in for 10,000 from the small blind against Breno Drumond on the button.

After Yixi Tang tossed his lone 5,000 chip into the pot, Alexander Baek raised to 80,000 from middle position.

Chun Kwan, on the button, three-bet to 155,000. Baek added his last 50,000 to the pot with an all-in call.

Kwan's bigger pair held against Baek in a runout of K5J68, knocking him out of the tournament. Tang scraped the tiny side pot to his end of the table.

Hong Heads to the Payout Counter

On a flop of 3K5 and a pot of around 70,000, a battle of the blinds was happening between Omar Del Pino in the small blind and Jinho Hong in the big blind.

After a check, Hong fired 30,000 and Del Pino replied with a raise to 70,000 sending Hong to the tank. After a few seconds, Hong announced all-in for 340,000. Del Pino snap-called.

Del Pino had flopped a two-pair but Hing was hoping for his flush draw to complete. No help arrived on the A turn and the 8 river, sending Hong to hit the rails as Del Pino scooped the pot.
