Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? Only 24 Return for Final Day of $1,000 Mystery Millions
There aren't many opportunities in poker to turn a $1,000 buy-in into a million-dollar payday, but Event #63: $1,000 Mystery Millions No-Limit Hold'em at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is one of them.
A total of 22,811 hopefuls flooded into the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas across six starting flights with dreams of becoming a millionaire, and the tournament has already produced its first. Jonathan Schiller pulled the largest available mystery bounty, earning a seven-figure payout from the event's $16,919,343 prize pool.
Schiller won't be the tournament's only millionaire, however. While the biggest mystery bounties have already been claimed, another seven-figure payday awaits. The eventual champion is set to walk away with $1,000,000 alongside a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.
Leading the way into the final day is Vinay Boob, who returns in pole position after bagging the overnight chip lead with a stack of 97,300,000.
Right behind him, 25K Fantasy Draft pick and past bracelet winner David “ODB” Baker returns with 75,800,000. In contrast, the ever-charitable Brian Smith is looking to win his first bracelet, and rounds out the top three with 71,300,000.
