Poker fans were treated to many exciting hands at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) the past week.
But there's always a player involved in one of these juicy hands who doesn't find it as interesting as the rest of us. Take Allen Kessler, for example, who took a cruel Razz bad beat to bust from the $3,000 Nine Game Mix event, a hand you'll read about in just a bit.
"The Chainsaw" isn't the only recipient of a bad beat or on the wrong end of a brutal cooler the past week at the WSOP.

Nixon Diaz finished in 26th place for $14,510 at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), in the $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event.
That isn't the story. You probably aren't even familiar with Diaz. After all, he'd never even cashed in a live poker tournament recorded by The Hendon Mob prior to the start of the 2026 WSOP. The story is how he even entered the tournament, and it started via a chance encounter with popular poker vlogger Corey Eyring.

There’s no denying that the World Series of Poker (WSOP) experience has been amplified thanks to the advent of fantasy poker. The Daniel Negreanu 25K Fantasy League, which debuted back in 2011, is in its 14th year, while the complimentary $500 ODB League, run by David “ODB” Baker and his wife, Nicole, is in its 11th year.
Indeed, this year’s ODB League is the biggest and best, with a massive 1,202 teams that each ponied up $500 to create a $601,000 prize pool. The top 100 teams will get a minimum of $1,000, while the winning team will earn a $100,000 top prize.
Earlier this month, ODB sat down with Donnie Peters on the PokerGO Podcast in which he opened up about his passion for poker, playing against the best players in the world inside the PokerGO Studio, and the history of the ODB Fantasy League.

This year's nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame have been announced, with the eight individuals now heading to the living members of the Hall for voting.
Each member can vote for up to four nominees, with anyone receiving votes from 22 or more members earns an automatic induction. This change, from a previous "winner-takes-all" format allowing for only one induction per year, was announced earlier this month.
Five of the eight nominees are first-time nominees, having met the minimum age requirement of 40. Eight-time WSOP bracelet winner Shaun Deeb headlines these players, and he is joined by Jason Koon, Isaac Haxton, Chris Moorman and Justin Bonomo.
