Looking down at 10♠9♦, Alex Foxen kicked the action off with a raise to 30,000 on the button, which Thomas Boivin called holding J♣7♣.
Both players checked on the 3♣6♦5♣ flop, prompting Boivin to lead out for 30,000 on the 7♠ turn. Foxen responded with a raise to 120,000, which Boivin called.
The 4♦ river put a straight on the board, and when Boivin checked over to Foxen again, he put in an overbet of 450,000. Boivin considered his options carefully, but ultimately chose to fold what would have been a chop.
Nikita Kuznetsov raised to 30,000 on the button, and Henri Puustinen called in the big blind.
The Q♦6♦7♥ flop saw Puustinen check-call a bet of 40,000, and the action checked through on the 8♣ turn.
The action then checked through once more on the 2♠ river and when Puustinen tabled his 6♠4♥, Kuznetsov tabled the winning 7♣5♠.

Julien Sitbon moved all in on the button for 625,000, and Cary Katz called to put him at risk.
Julien Sitbon: K♣Q♥
Cary Katz: A♥3♣
The 3♠J♠5♠3♥6♠ board had Sitbon drawing dead on the turn, but he was given a consolation hug from Katz, who advanced to the quarterfinals to face Ryuta Nakai.
On a flop of J♣5♠K♦, Dimitar Danchev and Florian Pesce both checked and Danchev then bet 75,000 on the 7♦ turn with 9♥8♥. Pesce called with Q♠5♦.
Danchev bet 180,000 on the 10♣ river and Pesce raised all in. Danchev snap-called with his straight and Pesce was sent to the rail.
Cary Katz jammed all in from the button, asking Julien Sitbon to risk his tournament life. Sitbon peeled his cards and made the call.
Julien Sitbon: K♥Q♠
Cary Katz: K♣9♠
The 4♣4♦A♥5♣7♣ board was a safe runout for Sitbon, who closed the gap on Katz.

Daniel Negreanu was all in for 342,000 from the button against Biao Ding in the big blind.
Daniel Negreanu: K♦3♥
Biao Ding: A♦7♣
The flop of 2♥J♥A♠ was no help to Negreanu as the board finished out 2♣Xx to mark the Poker Hall of Famer's elimination after he earlier had his opponent on the ropes.
Negreanu quickly removed his mic and was heard muttering and swearing under his breath a short while later as he left the Paris ballroom.
Daniel Negreanu limped in on the button, and Biao Ding responded with a raise to 120,000. Negreanu then put in his own raise, limp-jamming, having Ding's stack covered by around 400,000. Ding wasted little time in calling.
Biao Ding: A♠9♠
Daniel Negreanu: A♥Q♦
The dealer spread a 5♥6♦2♦ flop, seeing Negreanu retain his lead. The standings remained the same after the 10♠ river was dealt, leaving Ding just three outs to survive.
Right on queue, the dealer burned and turned the 9♦ river, seeing Ding survive his third all-in at risk, much to the dismay of Negreanu.
