Hand #182 - Ivan Demidov

Peter Eastgate has the button. He completes the small blind and Ivan Demidov checks the big blind.

The flop comes down {5-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}, bringing a check from Demidov and a bet of 1 million from Eastgate. Demidov makes the call to see the {6-Diamonds} hit the turn. Again Demidov quickly checks, but this time Eastgate checks behind.

The river card is the {8-Spades}. Both players check again, taking us to showdown. Demidov shows {10-Hearts} {5-Hearts}, which is the best hand and the winner when Eastgate mucks.

Some Perspective

With the chip counts being as close as they are (73 milion to 63 million), and blinds at 400k and 800k, the players are extremely deep stacked. What we are watching is essentially a $3.3 million heads-up sit-and-go.

Take Five

We have hit an unscheduled break in the action. After winning that last pot, Ivan Demidov went tearing off the stage. ESPN is changing tapes at the same time. We're not sure if it's a required changing, or if they decided to change as a result of Demidov's departure.

Hand #181 - Ivan Demidov

Happy Ivan
Happy Ivan
Ivan Demidov has the button. He slides out a raise to 2,000,000 and Eastgate calls.

The flop is {K-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} and both players check. The {5-Spades} on the turn prompts a 2,500,000 bet from Eastgate and a call from Demidov. The river falls the {3-Hearts} and Eastgate slows down and checks. Demidov looks back at his hole cards before reaching into his stack and announcing a 6,000,000 bet. Eastgate makes the call.

Demidov turns over {K-Spades} {3-Spades} for two pair and takes down quite a large pot, wresting the chip lead from Eastgate in the process.

Hand #176 - Ivan Demidov

Peter Eastgate has the button. He completes the small blind, giving Ivan Demidov an option in the big blind that he declines. The flop come {4-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} and once again, Demidov checks. Eastgate gets the action started with a bet of 1.25 million.

Ivan Demidov has been very thoughtful and deliberate with all of his actions at the final table. He takes about a minute before raising to 4.025 million. It takes Eastgate less time to fold.
