Hawkins and Germanis Going in Different Directions

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

After losing a big hand to his nemesis, Tim Reilly, Maurice Hawkins was involved in another pot with Bill Germanis. Germanis was all in for 795,000, and Hawkins called. Germanis was ahead with {A-}{A-} versus Hawkins' {8-}{8-}, and the board came {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, providing no help to Hawkins. He has now slipped below the 1,000,000-chip mark for the first time in a couple of days. Germanis, on the other hand, finally has some chips to work with now.

Julian Steur and Andrew Jernigan Keep Clashing

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Andrew Jernigan
Andrew Jernigan

Hand 1:

Andrew Jernigan, in the under-the-gun position, raised to 80,000. Julian Stuer, in the cutoff, three-bet to 250,000. Jernigan four-bet to 650,000, and Stuer called.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Spades}. Jernigan bet 800,000, and Stuer called.

Both players checked through the {K-Hearts} turn and the {7-Spades} river. Jernigan showed {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}, and Stuer mucked.

Hand 2:

Now Stuer was sitting in early position, and he raised to 90,000. Jernigan, in the big blind, called.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Clubs}, and Jernigan check-called the 75,000-chip bet of Stuer.

They both checked through the {6-Spades} turn and {Q-Clubs} river. Jernigan showed {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for king-high, and Stuer showed {A-}{10-} for ace-high. That was enough to win the pot.

Joseph Potts Loses a Race

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Two players limped, and the action was on Joseph Potts on the button, who moved all in for 920,000. Breixo Gonzalez was in the small blind and moved all in over the top, and everyone else folded. Gonzalez was ahead with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}, but Potts had two overcards to chase with {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, putting all undercards to Gonzalez's pair on the board. Potts was eliminated in 20th place, and the field is now just one elimination away from the two-table redraw.

Tim Reilly Knocks Out Eric Baldwin

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Tim Reilly
Tim Reilly

On a {6-Hearts}{J-Spades}{9-Hearts} board, Eric Baldwin was first to act and checked. Tim Reilly bet 105,000 and Baldwin called. The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and Reilly bet again for 225,000 and Baldwin called. The river brought the {9-Diamonds} and Reilly made a bet that essentially was more than Baldwin's 1,100,000 chip stack. Baldwin thought for a couple moments and called.

Baldwin showed {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for two pair, queens and nines, but Reilly showed {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} for a higher two pair, kings and nines. Baldwin was eliminated in 21st place.
