Jean Gaspard Eliminates Matthew Wakeman

Level 17 : 400/800, 100 ante

With about 45,000 already in the middle and the board reading {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Jean Gaspard checked from the big blind to Matthew Wakeman, and Wakeman bet 41,000. Gaspard then check-raised all in, putting Wakeman to a decision for his entire stack. After a few moments of contemplation, Wakeman called.

Gaspard rolled over {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for the flopped nut flush and sent Wakeman home as the first elimination of the day. Minutes later, Blake Bohn was knocked out as well.

Wiener Wins One With a 'Bluff'

Level 17 : 400/800, 100 ante

Matt Glantz opened to 1,800 from the cutoff and Mel Wiener, Andy Philachack and Olivier Busquet all joined along to see a {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop. It was checked to Glantz who led out for 3,500 with both Wiener and Busquet calling. The action was the same on the {K-Spades} turn except for the bet being 11,000.

On the {Q-Clubs} river, it was checked to Wiener who deliberated before betting 35,000. Busquet and Glantz both thought for a bit before folding and Wiener announced "Nothing special, I bluffed you guys." Except Wiener turned over {K-}{K-} for a full house and was obviously kidding about the bluff.

Kelly Kellner Starts Strong

Level 17 : 400/800, 100 ante

Action folded around to Kelly Kellner on the button, and he raised to 2,400. Thai Ha three-bet from the small blind to 7,400, the big blind folded, and Kellner called.

The flop fell {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Ha checked. Kellner bet 4,000 and Ha called.

The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and Ha checked once more. Kellner bet again, 11,500 this time. After a few moments of thought, Ha folded, and Kellner took the pot.

"That's how I want to do it," Kellner said with a smile. "I want to win the first one and the last one!"
