Ted Forrest Takes the Lead after Eliminating Mojgan Stringham

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Ted Forrest
Ted Forrest

Mojgan Stringham exited in 20th place, leaving Barbara Lewis the last female player left in the field. Stringham was eliminated by Ted Forrest who now has the chip lead. Here's how Stringham's last hand unfolded:

Forrest completed with the {4-Spades} and Stringham raised it up with the {8-Hearts} face up. Forrest called, and called another bet on fourth. He led out on fifth and Stringham moved all-in for 8,000 more. Forrest called and their hole cards were turned up.

Mojgan Stringham: {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} / {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Ted Forrest {8-Spades}{2-Spades} / {4-Spades}{Q-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

Stringham had eights and Forrest had a flush draw. Both players also had four low cards. Forrest hit the {A-Clubs} on sixth while Stringham bricked with the {9-Spades}. Forrest improved to aces up on seventh, showing the {4-Hearts}.

Stringham could win the whole pot with one specific card, the remaining eight. Her hopes for a chop were higher as she needed any ace, three, four or six. However, none of that arrived as she turned over the {K-Spades}. That was the last card she saw in the tournament as she conceded her chips to Forrest.

Rosenfeldt Folds to the Last Barrel

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

With the action witnessed from fourth street, Dimitrios Magdalinos played his hand straightforward, betting on every round. Jack Rosenfeldt called first three bets but he eventually couldn't call it all down. He laid down his hand on seventh. Magdalinos scooped a decent pot to climb above the tournament chip-average.

Jack Rosenfeldt: {X-}{X-} / {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{K-Clubs} / {X-} (folded on seventh street)
Dimitrios Magdalinos: {X-}{X-} / {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} / {X-}

Yeh Scooped Again

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante

Andrew Yeh was just near the top of the counts, but now he finds himself one of the shorter stacks after being scooped for the second big hand in a row. This time, Bill Kohler was the man who got him, after Kohler called bets on fifth and sixth with Yeh sporting an open pair of three.

Yeh: {x-}{x-}/{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}/{x-}
Kohler: {x-}{x-}/{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}/{x-}

Kohler came out with a bet on the end after Yeh checked, and Yeh quickly called.

"Straight," Kohler announced.

"Are you f****** kidding me?" Yeh muttered.

Kohler showed he wasn't, as he had {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a straight and a seven-low, and that scooped.

Pescatori Looks into Full House

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Max Pescatori paired his threes on fifth street but he checked to Tim Finne, who had three low cards exposed. Finne bet and Pescatori check-called. Sixth street changed the order as Finne hit a second eight, and he opted for the same strategy as Pescatori on the previous street; Finne check-called. Then he led out on seventh, and Pescatori paid.

Max Pescatori: {X-}{X-} / {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades} / {X-}
Tim Finne: {X-}{X-} / {6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} / {X-}

Finne had a monster, revealing {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for his hole cards, good for a full house. Pescatori didn't have a low and the whole pot travelled to Finne.

Stubborn Kohler Eliminates Hachem

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

"You were right about one thing, you're stubborn," Joe Hachem said to Bill Kohler after shipping him all his chips. Kohler stated that about himself earlier, and he just proved it.

The 2005 WSOP Main Event champion had open aces with two additional wheel cards on his board, betting on the river. Kohler raised to put Hachem at risk, and he called off.

While Hachem's hand looked to be strong, his hole cards {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{X-} weren't strong enough against Kohler's {4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} combined with {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds} hole cards. Kohler made a straight on the river, sending Hachem to the payouts desk.
