Yeh Scoops Gazlay, Who Busts Right After

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Andrew Yeh had a pair of nines on his board while Brayden Gazley's board read four low-cards. What was already a big pot remained checked on the river, with Yeh announcing two pair, sixes and nines. Gazlay looked at both boards in disappontment, failing to qualify for a low. He couldn't beat Yeh's two pair either. Yeh's {A-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{K-Diamonds} was good for a scoop, and Gazley was left with a shrapnel.

Gazlay lost his micro stack in the very next hand, walking away in 26th place. Meanwhile, Yeh is now approaching the pole position.

Tensions Rising at Table 728

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Dimitrios Magdalinos bet into two opponents on seventh street with three diamonds on board.

Magdalinos: {x-}{x-}/{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}/{x-}
Eric Pratt: {x-}{x-}/{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}/{x-}
Don Zewin: {x-}{x-}/{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{a-Spades}{10-Spades}/{x-}

Both players called, and Magdalinos rolled over {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a flush and a seven-five. Pratt mucked {a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, showing his own seven-low, and Zewin just mucked.

"That's a good hand, sir," Bill Kohler said. "Maybe you can stop bitching now."

Magdalinos fired something back and then told the supervisor not to allow Kohler to have any more Scotch.

"Maybe you should give him a penalty for being out of line," Kohler grumbled.

Yeh Rising After Scooping Gazlay

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Andrew Yeh picked up all low cards on his board and bet every street until the end against Brayden Gazlay, who had open fours.

Yeh: {x-}{x-}/{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}/{x-}
Gazlay: {x-}{x-}/{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}/{x-}

"Two pair," Gazlay announced after they both checked.

"Which two?"

It sounded like Gazlay announced fives and sevens, but Yeh had {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for eights up.

At the neighboring table, Eric Pratt busted Ryan Hughes.

Forrest Strikes Back

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Catching up with the action on seventh street, Ted Forrest and Justin Bonomo tangled in another big pot which looked to be pumped up by one bet on every street, except of the river where both players checked.

Justin Bonomo: {X-}{X-} / {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} / {X-}
Ted Forrest: {X-}{X-} / {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts} / {X-}

Forrest said, "Jacks up," rolling over {A-}{5-}{2-}. Bonomo turned his board face down and sent his seven cards to the dealer, leaving this one to Forrest.

Bonomo and Forrest are now nearly tied, both handling one of the top stacks in the remaining field.

"Miami" John Scoops

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
John Cernuto
John Cernuto

Andrew Yeh bet fifth street against "Miami" John Cernuto with Yeh showing three to a low and three to a straight, while Cernuto's board was just ace-high.

Yeh: {x-}{x-}/{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Cernuto: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

When Cernuto picked up a third wheel card, he came out betting, and Yeh called. Both checked the end, and Cernuto announced three aces, showing {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}. It was a winner.

Forrest's Time Expires in a Big Pot

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The last hand before the break saw a big pot emerge between Ted Forrest and Justin Bonomo. Forrest bet-called on fourth street and Bonomo fired on each of the following streets. Forrest called on fifh and sixth, but paused for quite some time on seventh.

The break was already in progress and the two superstars were abandoned at the table. Bonomo waited for about three minutes and then decided to call the clock. The tournament floor person came over, asking about the situation. "One bet? Okay, you have ten seconds," he informed Forrest.

Forrest seemed to be upset with such an ultimatum, but he didn't protest. He kept thinking about his move until the time expired. Forrest's hand was declared dead and Bonomo took down the pot without showing any of his hole cards.

Ted Forrest: {X-}{X-} / {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Spades} / {X-} (folded on seventh street)
Justin Bonomo: {X-}{X-} / {2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} / {X-}

Forrest Flushes Rosenfeldt

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
Ted Forrest

Four players showed interest in a pot that started with Tim Finne's complete. Tony Ma called but Jack Rosenfeldt doubled the price. Ted Forrest was next to act and matched the offer. Finne and Ma paid as well.

Third street brought another bet from Rosenfeldt but Forrest responded with a raise. While Finne escaped, Ma stood up and studied his opponents' boards. Then he took off his glasses, but eventually decided to follow Finne's lead, and mucked.

Forrest fired on all remaining streets, and Rosenfeldt all three bets.

Tim Finne: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} (folded on fourth street)
Tony Ma: {X-}{X-} / {3-Spades}{10-Spades} (folded on fourth street)
Jack Rosenfeldt: {X-}{X-} / {5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts} / {X-}
Ted Forrest: {X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} / {X-}

Forrest had devastating news for Rosenfeldt: "Flush." He showed {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Rosenfeldt tapped the table before sending his losing hand to the dealer.

After winning the big pot, Forrest's stack soared to 248,000, pushing him among the tournament leaders.

Iacofano and Armstrong Fall

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
Kevin Iacofano
Kevin Iacofano

One hand after bricking {a-Hearts}{x-}/{5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} to two players who wound up with two pair — Ernest Bohn scooped with jacks and tens — an exasperated Kevin Iacofano got his remaining chips in on the first round against Brayden Gazlay.

Gazlay: {k-Clubs}{3-Spades}/{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Iacofano: {9-Spades}{a-Diamonds}/{9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Gazlay ran his way into kings up and then flipped over a useless river card.

"I'm going to guess this is the ten of spades," said Iacofano as he flipped what turned out to be a {j-Hearts}, giving him a worthless two pair. "Good luck, everyone. I hope you all win."

At another table, Mark Armstrong lost the last of his chips.

Hughes Tops Cernuto

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

Ryan Hughes bet on fifth and sixth street before checking back on the river. "Miami" John Cernuto called the two barrels, and declared, "Pair of fives," in the showdown.

John Cernuto: {X-}{X-} / {6-Spades}{K-Spades}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts} / {X-}
Ryan Hughes: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} / {X-}

Hughes, however, replied with, "Queens," taking down the pot with the {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Cernuto dropped below average but he's still guarding a bigger stack than Hughes.
