Engel's Cards Don't Change

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Ari Engel was in position (cutoff) betting 2,000 on the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop. Small blind Martin Staszko called, and they continued toward the turn.

The {J-Diamonds} landed next to the flop, and Staszko opted to lead for 5,000 himself. Engel called. Staszko pushed another 10,500 into the middle when the {3-Hearts} hit the felt on the river. This time, Engel needed more time to figure out his plan. He spent about a minute thinking, and then he peeked at his hole cards. He took another minute and gave his cards one more look.

Unfortunately for Engel, he still wasn't happy enough with what he saw, and eventually laid it down.

Kabrhel Eliminates Hallaert

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Martin Kabrhel shoved all in from early position for 15,400. Action folded to Kenny Hallaert, and he shoved in for less — 15,000 exactly. Everyone else folded.

Kabrhel: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Hallaert: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Kabrhel took command on the {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, added a second pair on the {a-Spades} turn, and faded a queen on the {6-Hearts} river to bust the 2016 November Niner.

Reilly Busts to Hanson

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Tim Reilly and Bart Hanson were both among the early birds who showed up right before the 11 a.m. start.

While they originally played at different tables, the shuffling from breaking tables brought them together. Hanson and Reilly were sitting next to each other until a few moments ago when Hanson made more room for himself.

Reilly was maneuvering a short stack, putting his remaining chips in with the {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}. He couldn't run into much worse hand than Hanson's {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

The board was harmless for the jacks, and Reilly left the tournament area.

Jaffee Out in a Flip

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jared Jaffee had what appeared to be a four-bet of about 20,000 in front of him for nearly all of his chips in a hijack-versus-cutoff battle. His opponent moved all in after some thought, and Jaffee called off his last couple of thousand.

Jaffee: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Cutoff: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The {10-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board was safe enough for Jaffee, but the {a-Spades} river did him in.

Chris Ferguson Eliminated

Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson

Samuel Ganzfried raised to 2,300 from mid-position and action folded to Chris Ferguson in the big blind. Ferguson shoved all-in for his remaining chips. Ganzfried asked for a count, the dealer counted the chips and said it was 14,400. Ganzfried took some time to think and then decided to call.

Samuel Ganzfried: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Chris Ferguson: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{9-Spades}8s] - Ganzfried flopped an ace to give him a higher pair and knock Ferguson out of the tournament.
