Engel's Cards Don't Change

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Ari Engel was in position (cutoff) betting 2,000 on the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop. Small blind Martin Staszko called, and they continued toward the turn.

The {J-Diamonds} landed next to the flop, and Staszko opted to lead for 5,000 himself. Engel called. Staszko pushed another 10,500 into the middle when the {3-Hearts} hit the felt on the river. This time, Engel needed more time to figure out his plan. He spent about a minute thinking, and then he peeked at his hole cards. He took another minute and gave his cards one more look.

Unfortunately for Engel, he still wasn't happy enough with what he saw, and eventually laid it down.

Reiman Pays Liberto

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Ty Reiman checked from the big blind and called a bet of 2,800 from Justin Liberto on a {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades} board. On the {j-Hearts} river, Reiman checked again, and Liberto bet 8,600. Reiman called within seconds of getting the count.

Liberto had {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, and Reiman couldn't beat it.

Filatov Takes from Lampropulos in a Goodbye Hand

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Anatoly Filatov
Anatoly Filatov

Maria Lampropulos raised to 2,000 from the hijack, prompting a three-bet from Anatoly Filatov, who tripled the bet from the small blind. Lampropulos looked at Filatov's stack, and he cut out his remaining chips, showing he had just under 50,000 behind. Lampropulos called.

Filatov continued with another 4,300 on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts} flop, and Lampropulos called again.

The {10-Spades} turn saw both players check, and Filatov bet out one more time on the {K-Diamonds} river. He made it 12,000 to go.

Lampropulos wasted only about twenty seconds before folding, leaving the pot to Filatov. The floor staff arrived right after that hand, breaking the table.

Affleck Doesn't Show

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Matt Affleck
Matt Affleck

Matt Affleck led out 8,500 from the small blind with {J-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} on the felt. He was in a heads-up pot against a player in middle position, who called. The {5-Clubs} on the turn seemed to be a brick, and Affleck pulled the trigger. He shoved his remaining 18,200 in, puzzling the opponent.

Affleck's rival laid it down after about a one-minute tank, begging for free info. "Show me a bluff," he tried.

However, Affleck stayed calm, showing no expression and sliding his cards carefully into the muck.

Beckley Doubles Through Grafton

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Jan Schwippert raised to 2,000 preflop and received calls from Sam Grafton (button) and Josh Beckley (big blind). On the {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop, action checked to Grafton, and he bet 3,100. Beckley put in 9,000, and Schwippert thought for a while and folded. Grafton called, then called Beckley's shove for 12,700 on the {a-Clubs} turn.

Beckley: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Grafton: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Grafton was in awful shape, and the {2-Clubs} confirmed a double for Beckley. After the hand, Schwippert said he folded the king-high flush draw.
