Madoff Rivers a Flush

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Harry Madoff limped in under the gun, Albert Daher raised on the button, Abe Mosseri three-bet from the small blind, David Oppenheim called in the big blind, Madoff called, Daher made it four bets, and all players called.

On the {8-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, all players checked to Daher, who bet. Mosseri raised, Oppenheim and Madoff called, Daher re-raised, and all players called. The turn was the {10-Spades}, and everyone called another bet from Daher. The river brought the {4-Clubs}, and both Mosseri and Oppenheim checked. Madoff bet, Daher called, and the other two folded.

Madoff showed {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush, and Daher mucked.

Jacks and Fives for Rast

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Both Harry Madoff and Brian Rast had two low cards on their boards when Rast bet on fifth street. Madoff check-raised, and Rast called. Sixth street brought another low card for each of the players, and Madoff fired again, earning another call. Madoff, however, checked on the river. Rast went for more value and bet. Madoff accepted and called.

Harry Madoff: {X-}{X-} / {3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {X-}
Brian Rast: {X-}{X-} / {2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} / {X-}

Rast announced, "Jacks up," showing his {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} for two pair, jacks and fives. Madoff admitted he was defeated and mucked.

No-Limit Hold'em

Brock Parker (cutoff) faced off with Dan Smith (button) in a no-limit hold'em hand. With just under 40,000 in the pot, Parker and Smith were on the river of the {9-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board.

Action was on Smith, who thought about his bet sizing, then verbally set the price at 42,000. Parker seemed to be puzzled, but he cut the calling chips and checked how much he had on top of that. Then, he called.

Smith turned up {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for flopped trips, knowing his was going to rake in the huge pot. Parker mucked.

Ashton: {X-}{X-} / {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} / {X-} - fold

On fourth street, Matthew Asthon and Ben Sulsky checked to Johnny Chan, who bet. Both Ashton and Sulsky called. Chan bet fifth street when checked to, and Ashton and Sulsky called again. Chan gained the lead on sixth and bet. Ashton and Sulsky both called the bet. On the river, Chan bet, Ashton called, Sulsky made it two bets, Chan made it three bets, Ashton folded, Sulsky made it four bets, and Chan called.

Sulsky flipped open a disguised {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for sixes full of fours, but Chan tabled {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and scooped up the entire pot with kings full.

The Grinder Loses to Zinno

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Anthony Zinno raised to 1,000 from the button, earning calls from small blind Michael Mizrachi and big blind Wil Wilkinson.

The {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop was checked through. Mizrachi then led out for 2,500 on the {3-Clubs} turn. While Wilkinson released his hand, Zinno called. No further bets were made on the {J-Hearts} river, and Zinno tabled {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} to scoop the pot.

Mizrachi, who won this tournament twice (in 2010 and 2012) flashed the {A-Diamonds} before mucking his hand.

Volpe Enters and Chips Up Immediately

Level 2 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Just after taking his seat, Paul Volpe tangled in a pot with Bryce Yockey.

Picking up the action after the turn of an {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board with roughly 17,000 in the pot, Yockey bet 6,000 from the small blind, and Volpe called from under the gun.

The river was the {5-Clubs}, and Yockey bet 25,000. Volpe mulled it over for a bit and called but told Yockey, "I should raise."

Yockey showed {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}, but Volpe had it beat with {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for a set of queens to win the pot.
