Katz Pays Shakerchi

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Talal Shakerchi raised on the end when Aaron Katz bet into him, with the players sporting the following boards:

Katz: {x-}{x-}/{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}/{x-}
Shakerchi: {x-}{x-}/{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}/{x-}

"You got a full house, you win," Katz said with a sigh as he threw in a call.

No full house, but Shakerchi had {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for an ace-high flush, and that was enough.

Mizrachi Gets Some Back From Ashton

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Matthew Ashton raised from under the gun, Michael Mizrachi called from the small blind, and Josh Arieh called from the big blind.

Each player drew two, and action checked to Ashton, who bet. Only Mizrachi called, and he drew one. Ashton stood pat, and Mizrachi check-called a bet. Mizrachi drew one on the end, Ashton stood pat, Mizrachi led out, and Ashton called.

Mizrachi turned over Number Two, {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Ashton mucked, and Mizrachi won the pot.

Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

2-7 Triple Draw

Josh Arieh raised, and Mark Gregorich called in the small blind. Gregorich then took two and Arieh took one.

Gregorich checked to Arieh, who bet. Gregorich called.

On the second draw, Gregorich took one more, and Arieh stood pat. Gregorich checked again, and Arieh bet. Gregorich called again.

Gregorich took one again on the last draw. Arieh stood pat again. Both players checked.

Arieh turned up {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, and that earned him the pot as Gregorich mucked.

Haxton and Deeb Keep it Small

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Pot-Limit Omaha

Shaun Deeb raised to 25,000 from the hijack, Mike Matusow called from the cutoff, Isaac Haxton called from the small blind, and Ralph Perry called from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}, and Haxton led for 25,000. Perry folded, Deeb called, and Matusow called. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, and Haxton bet 55,000. Deeb called, and Matusow folded. The river was the {Q-Clubs}, and both players checked.

Haxton showed {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{X-}{X-} for a set of nines, but Deeb had that beat with {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a nine-high straight.

"I think we were both very content to keep that one small," said Deeb.

Quick Recovery For Mizrachi

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

Limit Hold'em

After being put on a short stack just before dinner, Michael Mizrachi has started on the road to recovery. In a recent pot, a preflop raising war had Mizrachi, Ian Johns, and Josh Arieh putting in 100,000 apiece before the flop.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, and all three players checked to see the {Q-Hearts} on the turn. Mizrachi led out from the big blind and was called by Arieh from under the gun and Johns on the button. The river was the {9-Hearts}, and Mizrachi led out again. Arieh called, but Johns threw his hand away.

Mizrachi showed {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a rivered full house, and that was good for him to take down the pot.

"Lets go, baby! Grind it out," came cheers from Mizrachi's family on the rail as he scooped the pot and removed himself from the danger zone.
