De Laat Doubles Up Sears

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

After Bas de Laat raised in late position, Nikolai Sears three-bet to 15,600, De Laat four-bet potted, and Sears stuck the rest in.

De Laat: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Sears: {A-}{A-}{X-}{X-}

It was kings against aces, and the aces held up on {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts} to give Sears the double.

Putthoff Runs Into Gilani's Monster

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Jeremy Putthoff just busted Manig Loeser but wasn't able to enjoy those newfound chips for long. In a pot-limit Omaha hand against Zahir Gilani, both players saw an {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop appear. Gilani bet 6,500, Putthoff potted to 25,600, Gilani repotted, and Putthoff called all in.

Gilani: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Putthoff: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Putthoff's bottom two pair was crushed by Gilani's top set, and the American needed one of the remaining jacks to survive. The board completed with the {10-Clubs} on the turn and {A-Clubs} on the river, and Putthoff had to make his way to the payout desk.

Loeser: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Putthoff: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Putthoff spiked two sevens to knock out Loeser.

Bas De Laat Wins Classic Race to Double

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Bas De Laat opened and four-bet jammed for 66,400 after Steven Wylie three-bet to 10,400. Wylie went into the tank for just a moment, cutting down his stack and eventually making the call.

De Laat: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Wylie: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The most classic of races was underway as the dealer fanned out a {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} board. The ace was right in the window for De Laat and he scored the double-up, leaving Wylie with crumbs.

Two-in-a-Row for Drinan

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Although Connor Drinan already racked up over $10 million dollars in lifetime poker winnings, he has yet to add an elusive WSOP gold bracelet to his already-impressive resume.

Drinan made Day 2 of this event with a shorter stack but was able to pick up the blinds and antes uncontested two hands in a row to chip up a bit.
