Bucherl Bubbles at the Hands of Smith

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Dan Smith, Konstantin Bucherl
Dan Smith, Konstantin Bucherl

After several confrontations between these two on the bubble, Konstantin Bucherl and Dan Smith went at it again. It was blind versus blind and the flop came {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Smith bet 60,000 from the small blind and Bucherl called. The {3-Diamonds} turn paired the board and Smith bet 150,000. After a long pause, Bucherl called.

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Smith bet the pot. That was enough to put Bucherl to an all-in decision for his remaining stack of right around 400,000. Bucherl thought it over for about a minute and moved his stack forward to call.

Smith tabled {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for twos full of threes, and Bucherl's {J-Hearts}{5-}{6-}{7-} was briefly tabled and mucked.

Bucherl is the bubble boy, and Dan Smith takes the chip lead. The remaining 31 players are in the money and will receive a minimum payout of $37,776.

Ochana Finds a Double Up

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Max Silver raised to 56,000 from middle position and Eddie Ochana called from the big blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} and both players checked to the {6-Clubs} on the turn. Ochana bet 75,000 and Silver raised to 300,000. Ochana put his remaining 322,000 into the pot and Silver couldn't help but call.

Ochana: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Silver: {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The river was the {7-Hearts} to give Silver a set of sevens but Ochana's set of jacks was still the best hand.

Taylor Puts Ochana to the Test

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Esther Taylor
Esther Taylor

With the board reading {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Eddie Ochana checked in the big blind and Esther Taylor bet 60,000 in the cutoff. Ochana called and the turn was the {7-Diamonds}. Ochana checked, Taylor bet 110,000, and Ochana called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Ochana checked again. Taylor cut out a bet of 300,000, a little less than Ochana's total stack, and he folded his cards as the players were heading for their final break of the night.

Big Stacks on the Bubble

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Play is still hand-for-hand on the money bubble. These are the eight biggest stacks in the room, and the only players above the 1,000,000-chip mark at the moment.

Max Silver and Alexey Rybin are at the top of the counts, both just above 2,000,000 chips.

Money Bubble

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

With the recent elimination of Ka Kwan Lau, there are just 32 players remaining. That means the last four tables in play will be hand-for-hand until the next elimination.

Tsang More than Doubles Up, Meyers Eliminated

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Tom Hu potted to 56,000 in early position, and Christopher Meyers called all in for 52,000 in middle position. Anson Tsang was in the small blind. He looked up at the clock and then moved all in for 177,000. The big blind folded, and Hu called to put both opponents at risk.

Meyers: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Tsang: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Hu: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The flop came {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, giving Tsang a set of tens to take the lead. His hand held up on the {5-Spades} turn and the {A-Clubs} river, and Tsang won the pot to more than double up. Meyers was eliminated.

Rybin Has Everything

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

The board read {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} with nearly 60,000 chips in the middle, and the action was checked to Tommy Le on the button. Le bet 33,000, only to be check-raised to 125,000 by Alexey Rybin. Felix Bleiker called from late position, and Le folded. The river brought the {7-Spades}, and both players checked.

Rybin tabled {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a full house, and Bleiker mucked his cards.
