Katchalov Doubles Through Koral

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Eugene Katchalov had the last of his very short stack in the middle and had a pair of fives heading to the river. His opponent, Tom Koral, hit two pair, fours and deuces, on the end, so Katchalov needed to improve. He sweated out a third five and doubled up.

Tryba Wins a Big One

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Chris Tryba
Chris Tryba

Chris Tryba: {x-}{x-}/{4-Clubs}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}/{x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}/{x-}
All-in Player: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{k-Spades}/{x-}

On fifth street, Chris Tryba called an all-in raise from one opponent, as did a third player in the hand. On sixth, Tryba bet, and the other player in the hand folded.

Tryba tabled {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} as his down-cards, way ahead of his opponent's {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Tryba hit a {2-Spades} on seventh, but his two pair was best anyway, and he was awarded the pot.

Lisandro Holds With Kings

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Felipe Ramos completed with the {a-Clubs} and got three callers.

Ramos bet fourth street, and both Jeff Lisandro and Mike Gorodinsky stuck around. Ramos slowed down with a check on fifth, and he saw Lisandro bet his own ace-high board and Gorodinsky raise. Ramos let his hand go after some thought.

Ramos: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Clubs} - fold
Lisandro: {x-}{x-}/{7-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}/{x-}
Gorodinsky: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}/{x-}

After calling the raise and then check-calling sixth, Lisandro told Gorodinsky to "go ahead." However, "Gordo" checked and could not beat the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} shown down by Lisandro.

Thomas Rolled Up?

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Matt Grapenthien completed with the {7-Hearts} and called a raise from Harry Thomas, who was on his left with the {9-Spades}.

Thomas bet fourth and fifth streets, and Grapenthien paired on sixth.

Grapenthien: {x-}{x-}/{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Thomas: {x-}{x-}/{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Grapenthien bet, but Thomas continued his aggression with a raise. Grapenthien called. Thomas bet the end, as well, and Grapenthien thought awhile and threw in a call.

Thomas showed {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for nines full of queens.

Martin Survives

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Jesse Martin bet on fifth street with {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts} showing, and Randy Ohel raised, driving out Chris George. Ohel had {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades} up and called for the rest of Martin's chips.

Ohel had {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} in the hole for a pair of nines, while Martin had {a-Spades}{6-Hearts} for aces. Ohel didn't improve on the last two streets, so Martin doubled up.
