Monnette Has Heaps

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

A player with open fives bet into two opponents on sixth street, with both John Monnette and Iraj Parvizi going nowhere, the latter showing four to a wheel but needing a five to finish the straight.

Monnette: {x-}{x-}/{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}/{x-}
Parvizi: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}/{x-}
Third player: {x-}{x-}/{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Spades}/{x-}

On the end, the player with open fives checked and Monnette tossed in a bet. Both opponents called, and Monnette tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for a set of kings to win the pot.

George's Trip Jacks Enough

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Chris George tangled in a pot with Tom McCormick. We caught the action on fifth street and Geroge fired bets on fifth and each street leading out, getting McCormick to call all the way and muck when George tabled {j-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds} to go with his {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, making trip jacks.

Vitch Crushing

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Chris Vitch

Two-time bracelet winner and limit-game expert Chris Vitch has had an outstanding start to this event, amassing nearly three starting stacks already. In one recent pot, he tangled with Eric Wasserson, with Vitch betting into two players sporting a {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} board. One folded, but Wasserson stuck around and called another bet on sixth.

Wasserson: {x-}{x-}/{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}/{x-}
Vitch: {x-}{x-}/{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}/{x-}

Vitch had picked up four to a straight, and he bet the river as well. Wasserson folded what he said was two pair.

Parvizi Goes from PLO to Stud

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante

Iraj Parvizi just finished 15th in the $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event for $48,896, though it was perhaps a disappointing result after coming into Day 2 with the chip lead. He hasn't let any lingering sadness slow him down though, as he hopped into the $10,000 Stud Championship.

Two Pair Enough for Lazarou

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Lazarou: {x-}{x-}/{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}/{x-}
Racener: {x-}{x-}/{k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}/{x-}

On fifth street, Vassilios Lazarou led with a bet and called a raise from John Racener. Lazarou check-called a bet on sixth and both players checked on seventh.

Lazarou tabled {j-}{7-} for two pair, jacks and sevens, and Racener mucked.

Gordo Sliding Early

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Mike Gorodinsky completed with the {q-Spades} and called when Jameson Painter raised in the next seat over with the {10-Clubs}. Gorodinsky called a bet on fourth but raised on fifth despite Painter making open threes. "Gordo" bet sixth street as well.

Gorodinsky: {x-}{x-}/{q-Spades}{4-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Painter: {x-}{x-}/{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

Painter called, and both players checked on the end. Painter showed {10-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for tens and threes, and Gorodinsky couldn't beat them.
