Damian Salas Scoops Monster Pot to Vault into Chiplead

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Damian Salas raised to 35,000 from under the gun. A player in middle position called before Dilovan Hussein three-bet to 170,000 from the small blind. Salas called and the third player in the hand folded.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Hussein checked to Salas who bet 110,000. Hussein snap-called.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Hussein checked again. This time Salas bet 158,000. Again, Hussein called almost instantly.

The river was the {8-Spades}. Hussein checked a third time. Salas took his time and compiled a pretty hefty bet of 442,000. Hussein called quickly.

Salas showed {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a flopped set and rivered full house and Hussein flashed {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for just an overpair.

"How do you call 170,000 preflop with that?" asked Hussein. "Why not fold?"

Five-Minute Tank Ends With Rypulak Calling Been's Massive Bet

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Aaron Been
Aaron Been

Mateusz Rypulak bet 95,000 in the small blind on an {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, and Aaron Been called from middle position. Rypulak checked the {4-Diamonds} turn and called a bet of 175,000 from Been. On the {q-Spades} river, Rypulak checked a final time. Been slid in a bet of 700,000, leaving 61,000 back.

At this, Rypulak went deep into the tank. He shifted in his seat multiple times, taking a few deep breaths and studying Been. After about five minutes, someone called the clock. With less than 20 seconds remaining before his hand was dead, Rypulak dropped in a call. Been flipped over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for aces up and Rypulak shook his head repeatedly and mucked.

Straight for Li

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Yuan-Yuan Li, seated in early position, opened for 35,000. She picked up two callers: both the button and the big blind invested 35,000 as well.

The big blind checked on {J-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Li continued for 55,000. The button called and the big blind folded.

As the {Q-Hearts} hit the turn and Li checked. The button bet 105,000 and Li called.

The river {7-Clubs} saw both players check and Li walked away a winner as her showing {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} had the button muck.
