May Bluffs Off a Big Chunk to Wakeman

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Catching action on the turn, there was already 75,000 in the pot with the board showing {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Matt Wakeman was first to act from the small blind and he checked it over to Heidi May. May put out a bet of 45,000 and Wakeman called.

The river was the {2-Clubs} and Wakeman checked for a second time. May then put out a big bet of 125,000. Wakeman thought about it for a bit but eventually called showing his {Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. It was good enough to take down the pot as May could only turn up {8-Spades}{4-Spades} for missed spades and eight high. With that, May dropped under 300,000 while Wakeman chipped up to nearly 800,000.

Dean Blatt Bubbles the $5K Challenge Event

Isaac Lau raised to 15,000 from the cutoff before Dean Blatt re-raised to 55,000 from the big blind. Lau then moved all in for 247,000 which had Blatt covered by 6,000. Blatt announced that he would call once the other tables completed their hand which he did.

Isaac Lau: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Dean Blatt: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} to see Lau spike and ace on the flop and take down the pot with a higher two-pair.

The remaining 24 players in today's field have all just guaranteed themselves a $9,426 payday.

Wakeman Shoves on Sean D

Level 13 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Heidi May opened in early position with a raise to 13,000. Matthew Wakeman called in the hijack and Sean D called in the cutoff seat.

The flop was {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs} and action checked over to D who put out a bet of 17,000. May called before Wakeman woke up with a check-raise to 63,000. D thought it over for a bit before raising and making it 145,000. May quickly got out of the way but Wakeman didn't release. He thought for just a bit then moved all in for over 400,000. D didn't take too long to release, so Wakeman took down the pot to move over 500,000 chips.
