Dinner Break

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The clock has been paused and the 82 remaining Main Event players are off on a 30-minute dinner break.

Rodrigues Doubles Before Break

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Manuel Rodrigues earned a double-up before the break, railing an unfortunate opponent in the process and was kind enough to relay the details after the fact.

Rodrigues was in the small blind and had made the call pre-flop with {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} so was understandably pretty happy with {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, check calling a 4,000 continuation bet from his opponent. The {2-} turn saw the same betting pattern, with Rodrigues check-calling a 9,500 second barrel and the river came down the {q-Clubs} to give Rodrigues the flush. This is when all the chips went in and Rodrigues' opponent went out.

Liddell Busts to Tan

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Marc Liddell's Day 1B is done and dusted, with Jerome Tan the man to send him to the rail. It was the short-stacked Liddell the man to move all-in first pre-flop with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Tan looked him up from the button with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

Liddell's last board came down {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and he headed for the exit, while Tan stacked up to 136,000.

Amiri Busts to Mooney

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Ehsan Amiri
Ehsan Amiri

A table move proved to be the undoing of Ehsan Amiri, whose Main Event Day 1B is now done and dusted, courtesy of Geoff Mooney. Amiri had just moved the table and was in the big blind.

All the chips went in pre-flop, with Amiri moving all-in for 55,000 over the top of a Mooney button open and a flat call from a player to Mooney's direct left. Mooney re-shoved, which was enough to get the hand heads-up and the cards were turned over.

Ehsan Amiri: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Geoff Mooney: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

The {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} runout saw Amiri depart and stacked Mooney up to 130,000.

Vukovic Doubles Through O'Farrell

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Brian O'Farrell opened the action with a raise to 2,500 from under-the-gun and Mladen Vukovic moved all-in for 22,300 from one seat over. O'Farrell decided to roll the dice and slid out the call with both players turning over their cards.

Brian O'Farrell: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Mladen Vukovic: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Vukovic was the man at risk but held the best hand, which held on the {4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades} runout, stacking Vukovic up to 43,000, while O'Farrell dropped down to close to the same on 42,000.

Jabbour Wins Multiway, Attenborough Busts

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Billy Argyros_Adrian Attenborough
Billy Argyros_Adrian Attenborough

Billy 'the croc' Argyros opened the action from under-the-gun for 2,500 and received zero respect for his early postion open with Adrian Attenborough calling from one seat over, a player calling in middle position, Manuel Rodrigues calling on the button, Sayed Jabbour calling from the small blind and the big blind came along as well.

"I think the dealer wants to play as well," quipped Rodrigues just before the man in question spread a flop of {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} which saw checks from all six players.

The {2-Spades} turn saw Jabbour lead out for 6,000 with Attenborough the only caller. That was it for the betting in the hand, with both players checking the {5-Diamonds} river.

Jabbour turned over {j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Attenborough mucked to drop down to 11,000, while Jabbour climbed to 95,000 after the hand.

Attenborough dropped another 6,000 the following hand against Billy Argyros, who took the rest of his chips the hand after to bring Attenborough's Day 1B to a premature end.
