Deeb, Out

Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb has just been eliminated from the tournament by Eric Dalby.

Dalby opened the pot with a raise to 12,000 from the CO+1. Action then folded around to Deeb in the big blind who reraised to 38,000.

"How much more does he have?" asked Dalby.

"45,500," replied Deeb.

Dalby then raised enough to put Deeb all in, and Shaun turned his cards over even before pushing the rest of his chips into the middle: {A-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {K-Clubs}. Dalby tabled the {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {10-Spades}.

Deeb's "Good game" comment after the {2-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} flop was perhaps a testament to his luck today. It was as if he felt he had no chance, despite the fact that he'd flopped top set.

Unfortunately for Deeb, the one time he'd wished his intuition was wrong, it was dead on, as the turn and river filled out {4-Hearts}, {10-Diamonds}, giving Dalby a queen-high flush.

After the hand, Dalby stacked up almost 300,000 in chips and now finds himself second only to Jason Mercier atop the overall leaderboard.
