New Chip Leader?

News coming in through the dinner break suggests that online Omaha specialist Dave Callaghan is the current chip leader with 120,000 after rivering quads with set under set, all in on the turn. The unlucky recipient and would-be chip leader? Dave 'Dubai' Shallow. He's down to 20,000 as a result and in need of a breath of fresh air. "Let's not go to Häagen-Dazs though," he pleaded. "I'm watching my figure."

90 Minute Dinner Break

And the noon-starting PLO £5k-ers get their chance to speed off around the centre of London in search of tasty dinner offerings, of which there are many around here. Back in 1.5 hrs.

Kabbaj Teased

On a {7-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop, Theo Jorgensen (small blind) led for 8,000 and John Kabbaj (UTG) called. A {10-Clubs} turn, and the Dane fired again, this time slightly less: 7,500. This time, however, Kabbaj made the fold, to which Jorgensen release a non too subtle whistle of relief. With no response the first time, Jorgensen repeated the act, to which Kabbaj simply glanced at him and nodded his head.

No Bluffing Williams off Third Nuts

A pot which looked pedestrian suddenly escalated on the river between David Williams and Roberto Romanello. Just over 6k looked to have been bet up to this point, with the board standing {7-Spades} {A-Hearts} {10-Spades} {3-Clubs} {10-Hearts} . Now Williams bet out 5,500 and there was a pause while button Romanello considered. Eventually he threw in 16k which was called before it hit the felt. He appeared reluctant to show his hand and in fact mucked as soon as Williams confidently tabled {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {2-Hearts} .

Flack Whacked

Layne Flack was all in for his last 9,100 just moments ago, the board reading {7-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Flack showing turned trips and a flopped flush draw with {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}. His assassin-to-be held {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}. A {9-Clubs} river, and Back 2 Back was back 2 the rail.

Players aren't hanging around to make the dinner break... if the stack's less than 20k, there's a good chance the player behind it is getting it in round about now.

Like, for example, Devilfish - he just got it all in vs. Jeff Kimber on a {A-Hearts} {8-Spades} {10-Spades} flop holding {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} vs. Kimber's flush drawy same-made-hand {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}. That resulted in a chop as the turn and river came {4-Hearts} {10-Hearts}.

But then the very next hand he threebet preflop and picked up a young Finnish player who called the necessary 6k to see a {K-Spades} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} flop with the Devilfish. Sensing the inevitable, Young Finnish Player checked and Devilfish moved in for just over 11k. He waited for some brow furrowing before the fold then announced, "Aces," flipping up the entirely unrelated {A-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}.

"I can't stand the bullying any more," he told the table as he raked in the pot with a grin.

Deeb = Chip Leader

Shaun Deeb has amassed more chips than a computer factory and appears to be the first player to have surpassed that magic 100,000 mark. He currently has 110,000 and is sharing a table with Howard Lederer and recent GUKPT victor Karl Mahrenholz.
