Final Table All Set At Last, Vilmunen Back in the Lead

Well, that was a seriously long final table bubble, but at long last we are all set for tomorrow.

Jani Vilmunen started the day with a massive stack, and that's how he's ended it too. Indeed, he's back to Monster Chip Leader status, with a 3:2 chip lead over his nearest rival, fellow Finn Aarno Kivelio, going into the final table.

Vilmunen seems on form now after a disappointing WSOP this summer -- the Irish Open final tabler just recently won a six-max PLO WCOOP event, and is in an excellent position to maybe get a bracelet to go with it. However, it's anyone's game at the moment, so join us back here from 2pm GMT+1 to see who walks away from this final table with their wrist a little heavier and a little shinier...

Misses Out: Sandra Naujoks Finishes 10th (£14,900)

Another player has fallen to Jani Vilmunen - Sandra Naujoks, whose early rise to the dizzying heights of the top of the chip counts carried her through a drier spell today, before at the end she went for a chance at a double through with a flopped set.

However the {A-Clubs}

flop kept Vilmunen interested as she bet out 40k. He called, and when the {9-Clubs}

came on the turn she moved in for 44k more. This turn card had given Vilmunen flush outs to go with his straightening hand - {6-Diamonds}

- and she could only watch as her set of Fours (her hand {4-Clubs}

) became no good with the {3-Hearts}

falling on the river.

The EPT winning Naujoks will undoubtedly be back for the Main Event, but for now she's left the tournament to the nine players who will return tomorrow at 2pm to commence the final table.

Sandra Naujoks Elects to Play a Hand

After tightening up during this final-bubble, and dwindling to just 65k, the first time she raised ("in about an hour" according to one railer) the table folded round and gave her the blinds. But her lack of involvement has meant that she's now the short stack, and if she's weathering a spell of dry cards she's going to be hoping it breaks soon.

Boatman Mis-lederer

A very slow section of the tournament was just accidentally decelerated further after a check from Howard Lederer on the river of a {2-Hearts}

board went unnoticed by opponent Ross Boatman. Boatman had called Lederer's bet on the turn (25k) and was patiently waiting for him to act. When Lederer told him he'd checked, he apologised and turned his hand over: {A-Hearts}

; Lederer mucked and he took the pot.

Romanello's Invisible Boots Kick Some of Vilmunen's Chips His Way

Four limps and a check from big blind Ville Haavisto brought a flop of {4-Spades}

. No one seemed too interested, so they got a free {8-Diamonds}

. Now the blinds checked, Jani Vilmunen bet 22k and Roberto Romanello (to his immediate left) called. Everyone else passed.

The river was the {8-Hearts}

and now both players remaining checked swiftly. Vilmunen showed only a pair of Jacks in his hand, but Romanello's {A-Diamonds}

won him that 80k-ish pot.

Boatman Up Past His Bedtime

Jani Vilmunen raised pot from the button and Ross Boatman called out of the big blind. They saw a {9-Hearts}

flop.

Boatman spent a moment sipping at could have been a cappuccino but to be honest looked more like a cup of cocoa. He checked, and the laid down his hand to a 36,000 bet from Vilmunen.

Eights Mean Prizes For Roberto and Haavisto

Roberto Romanello just took a few chips from Ross Boatman - every penny seems to be counting for these final ten at the moment. Boatman had limped under the gun, and they got to a flop of {3-Hearts}

. Not too much going on here - a {J-Spades}

came on the turn. If there was a bet on the turn, I missed it (and it wasn't enough to make the pot look any bigger) but Romanello fired 24k on the {Q-Spades}

river. Then came a think, and a call - Romanello's {8-Diamonds}

x x for the flopped set and rivered house were the winners.

Meanwhile Ville Haavisto's added 22k to his stack, getting a preflop call from Howard Lederer who passed to his 34k bet on the {8-Diamonds}

flop.
