Fitoussi's Stack Growing

Bruno Fitoussi popped it up to 5,000 before the flop and Douglas Corning called from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and the flop came {2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Two checks brought the {J-Clubs} on the turn and Fitoussi checked once again. Corning bet out 8,000 and Fitoussi called.

The river was the {6-Spades} and Fitoussi checked. Corning fired 17,000 and Fitoussi mulled over a decision for well over a minute before dropping in enough chips to call. He showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for a set of nines and Corning mucked his hand, awarding Fitoussi the pot.

The Shortest Stacks

It's hard to count Vanessa Selbst's chips since they are on a big pile, but from our latest estimations it's still around 25,000. These are the three short stacks right now.

Trouble For Selbst

On the first hand of hand-for-hand play it was Vanessa Selbst who just lost an important pot. The board read {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} when Michael Schwartz bet 9,500. Selbst raised it up to 35,000 and Schwartz called.

Schwartz showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and took down the pot. Selbst complimented Schwartz on his call and she's now one of the shortest remaining stacks.

Mizrachi Doubles Abecassis

On a {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts} it was Michael Mizrachi who bet 8,000. Michel Abecassis moved all in for 34,100 and Sam Chartier folded. Mizrachi called creating another all-in showdown.

Showdown:
Michael Mizrachi: {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}
Michel Abecassis: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}, and the river the {2-Spades}. Abecassis doubled up as we are still two players away from the money.

Set Over Set: Fitoussi Doubles Through Selbst

Bruno Fitoussi
Bruno Fitoussi

Bruno Fitoussi raised under the gun to 4,000 and Vanessa Selbst called directly to his left. The flop brought out {5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Fitoussi bet 10,000. Selbst called.

On the turn the {4-Clubs} hit and Fitoussi bet pot. Selbst put her opponent all in, and he called right away.

Showdown:
Vanessa Selbst: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Bruno Fitoussi: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The river was the {3-Clubs} and Fitoussi doubled up.

Mizrachi vs. Ryynanen Part III

After watching Vanessa Selbst double up Ville Mattila at one table, we found Michael Mizrachi and Jussi Ryynanen locked in yet another battle at the next table over.

The board read {10-Clubs}{J-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Ryynanen checked. Mizrachi moved a bet of 45,000 into the middle and Ryynanen was left thinking for a while.

Eventually, a smile washed over Mizrachi's face.

"Listen," Mizrachi said. "If you fold I'll show you a bluff. If you call...I'll probably show you the best hand."

This statement caused Ryynanen to peek at his hole cards once again before he began counting out chips.

"There we go," said Mizrachi.

Ryynanen tossed in a called and Mizrachi tabled {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a queen-high straight. Ryynanen showed {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a smaller straight and was forced to muck his hand after muttering a few choice words.

After winning this pot Mizrachi is flirting with 200,000 in chips.

Mattila Catches Spade to Double Through Selbst

On a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}, Ville Mattila moved out two stacks of purple t500 chips for a bet totaling 20,000. Jussi Nevanlinna got out of the way and Vanessa Selbst announced that she was all in from the button. Mattila called for his tournament life and the hands were shown:

Selbst: {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Mattila: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Mattila was looking for a spade to best Selbst's flopped straight and found exactly that when the {5-Spades} fell on the turn. The {3-Clubs} completed the board and Selbst was forced to ship over 33,500 in chips to Mattila. She is currently sitting on about 120,000 in chips.

Ryynanen and Mizrachi Clash Again

With the flop reading {3-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Roger Hairabedian checked to Jussi Ryynanen who also checked. Michael Mizrachi checked behind and the three players saw the {J-Diamonds} pair the board on the turn.

Hairabedian checked again and Ryynanen fired 8,000. Mizrachi called and Hairabedian folded, leaving the two to go heads up to the river.

The dealer produced the {9-Hearts} on fifth street and Ryynanen moved 8,500 into the middle of the table. Mizrachi wasted no time calling and showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Ryynanen gave a nod of approval and mucked his hand, awarding this small victory to Mizrachi.
