Micah Smith Eliminated in 8th Place (€9,596)

Micah Smith
Micah Smith

Aku Joentausta raised under the gun and the action was folded to Micah Smith. Smith was in the big blind and he put his final chips at risk. Joentausta called.

Showdown:
Aku Joentausta: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Micah Smith: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, and Smith was knocked out. Just 7 players remain, all of which will be seated at the same table. The redraw will follow shortly.

Antoine Pacaud Eliminated in 9th Place (€6,977)

We didn't catch the exact betting, but we do know that Antoine Pacaud ended up all in preflop and at risk against Ana Marquez.

Showdown
Marquez: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Pacaud: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Marquez was in good shape, but the {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop was kind to Pacaud as it gave him a pair of sixes with a flush draw. The {A-Clubs} turn actually have Pacaud the lead with aces and sixes, but the {9-Clubs} would spike on the river to give Marquez aces and nines for the win.

Francisco Da Costa Santos: {K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Spades}, {4-Spades} and Lesage was knocked out. We are down to 9 players and just one elimination away from a redraw.

One for Smith

Aku Joentausta opened for 5,100 under the gun and Micah Smith defended from the big blind. Both players checked the {6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} flop, and then Smith led out for 11,400 on the {7-Spades} turn. Joentausta gave it some thought but opted to lay it down.

Slow Going

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Things have slowed considerably on the tournament floor. There was one recent notable pot, but it ended up being a chopped pot between Andrew Lichtenberger and Francisco Da Costa Santos. With the blinds where they're at, it's only a matter of time before the action picks up.

Joentausta Gives it Back

Micah Smith raised to 4,800 from the button after which Aku Joentausta three-bet to 16,800 from the button. Smith tanked for a while and called.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Joentausta put Smith all in for his final 8,100 chips. Smith called.

Showdown:
Micah Smith: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Aku Joentausta: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}, {J-Hearts} and Smith made a better two pair. We are still with ten players, and it's anyone's game!

Joentausta Applies Pressure

After Antoine Pacaud opened for 5,000 from the cutoff and Micah Smith called form the small blind, Aku Joentausta three-bet to 20,000 from the big. Only Smith called and it was heads-up to the {5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop. Smith wasted little time in checking, and that opened the door for Joentausta to move all in for 28,000. Smith gave it some thought but ultimately decided to lay down his hand.
