Ivey Check-Raises

Level 3 : 150/300, 0 ante

From under the gun, Joao Martins raised to 750. On the button, Flavien Guenan called, then Phil Ivey called from the big blind. From there, the dealer spread the {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, and Ivey checked. Martins bet 1,600, which was called by Guenan. Ivey, though, wanted to play for a bit more and check-raised to 7,100. Martins folded, as did Guenan, and Ivey won the pot.

"Better to Be Lucky Than Good"

A short-stacked Alain Roy got his last 4,125 all in preflop and was racing again Luca Dal Cerro.

Showdown
Roy: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Dal Cerro: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

It was a classic flip, but Roy needed to improve to stay alive. That's exactly what he did on the {2-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop, while the {6-Spades} turn and {J-Clubs} river locked up the double.

"Better to be lucky than good," Roy said after the hand.

Ivey Staying Involved and Winning More Pots

Action folded to Phil Ivey in the cutoff seat, and he raised to 700. Joao Martins made the call from the button, and everyone else folded. On the {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, both players checked to see the {10-Diamonds} come out on fourth street. Ivey bet 1,100, and Martins folded.

On the next hand, Flavien Guenan opened to 725 from middle position. Ivey made the call in the hijack seat, and Elie Payan made the call from the small blind. The flop came down {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} before play checked to Ivey. He bet 1,500, and both of his opponents folded.

One for Bonavena

From under the gun, Antony Lellouche raised to 700. Franck Maglott flatted on the button, then Salvatore Bonavena reraised to 2,100 from the big blind. Lellouche called, and Maglott folded.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and Bonavena quickly fired 4,000. Lellouche folded.
