"It's a Race"

Ben Roberts opened for 9,500 under the gun only to have Salman Behbehani move all in for roughly 45,000. Action folded back around to Roberts, he made the call, and upon seeing his opponent's hand said, "It's a race."

Showdown
Behbehani: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Roberts: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

Indeed it was, but Behbehani was the one with the best hand and looking to dodge big cards. Unfortunately for him, the {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{J-Clubs} flop delivered Roberts a pair of jacks and the lead. Neither the {10-Clubs} turn nor {2-Diamonds} river helped Behbehani, and he collected his things and exited the tournament floor.

Grospellier Knocks Another One Out

Herve Clerc was eliminated by Bertrand Grospellier
Herve Clerc was eliminated by Bertrand Grospellier

Bertrand Grospellier just raised to 8,000 from the button and Herve Clerc called from the small blind.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Clerc check-called 11,500. On the turn the {9-Spades} hit and Clerc checked again. Grospellier bet 22,500 after which Clerc moved all in for 110,000.. Grospellier called with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, and was well ahead against {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}.

The river was the {6-Spades}, and we are one step closer to the money.

Five From The Money

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Just 53 players remain, and that means we are five spots away from the money. The 48th place in this event will pay €20,150. Right now the average stack is 237,736 or 59 big blinds.

ElkY Crushing on Table 15

As we went to Table 15 to grab some counts, we saw a big pot developing between Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Vadzim Markushevski. With at least 80,000 in the pot and a board reading {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Markushevski bet 65,000 and Grospellier, who had the bigger stack, moved all in. Markushevski thought about it for a couple minutes, but he eventually decided to hold on to his remaining 145,000.

Here are the counts for the entire lineup at Table 15:

Reilly Survives

Joe McGowan just raised to 10,000 from the button and Timothy Reilly three-bet all in for a total of 65,500. McGowan tanked for a bit before making the call.

Showdown:
Joe McGowan: {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Timothy Reilly: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Spades}, and Reilly stayed alive.

Frankenberger's Aces Hold Up

Andy Frankenberger was just all in pre flop against Julien Lefebvre.

Showdown:
Andy Frankenberger: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}
Julien Lefebvre: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, and a very nervous looking Frankenberger doubled up. We are only four players removed from the bubble, and Frankenberger has some breathing room right now.

Tedeschi Doubles Big Through Alvarado

JC Alvarado
JC Alvarado

Paul Tedeschi and JC Alvarado each put in 62,000 preflop and saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The former wasted little time in leading out for 62,000, Alvarado called, and the dealer burned and turned the {2-Diamonds}. Tedeschi, who had 159,000 behind, moved all in and Alvarado snap-called.

Showdown
Tedeschi: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Alvarado: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

Tedeschi slammed the table with his fist, apparently a popular celebration among Frenchman, when the river blanked. Alvarado counted out the chips to pay his opponent and was left with just 40,500 after the hand.
