Benyamine Doubles Through Brammer

David Benyamine opened to 35,000 from the button and Christopher Brammer three-bet to 83,000 from the small blind. It folded back to Benyamine and he wasted no time moving all in for 260,000. Brammer snapped him off and the hands were revealed:

Benyamine: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Brammer: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

Benyamine needed help and got exactly that on the {6-Clubs}{A-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop. He made two pair on the {10-Clubs} turn and the board finished with the {K-Spades}, securing his double to around 520,000.

Liv Boeree Eliminated in 18th Place (€26,611)

Liv Boeree - 18th Place
Liv Boeree - 18th Place

Joseph Cheong opened to an unknown amount and Liv Boeree three-bet all in for 272,000 total. Cheong called and the hands were revealed to find Boeree in the lead.

Boeree: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Cheong: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Boeree stayed safe on the flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and through the {7-Diamonds} on the turn. Cheong needed to pair his ten on the river to send her home and he did exactly that. The dealer ripped off the {10-Diamonds} on fifth street and a stunned Boeree hung her head. Cheong tapped the table, stood up, and gave Boeree a hug before she exited the tournament area.

Curt Kohlberg Eliminated in 17th Place (€26,611)

Curt Kohlberg - 17th Place
Curt Kohlberg - 17th Place

Phil Hellmuth is our new chip leader.

Curt Kohlberg opened to 30,000 from under the gun and it folded to Phil Hellmuth who pushed out a sizable three-bet to 180,000. It folded back around to Kohlberg who announced that he was all in for 900,000 total.

"What did he say? All in?" said Hellmuth. "I call!" Hellmuth shot out of his chair and tabled {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

Kohlberg showed {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and was in dire need of some help.

Fortunately for Kohlberg, the flop brought him hope, as it fell {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, giving him an open-ended straight draw. Hellmuth took one look at the flop and stormed away from the table.

The {A-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn, giving Hellmuth a set but Kohlberg was still drawing live going to the river.

Fifth street was paint, but unfortunately for Kohlberg it was the {J-Spades}, pairing him up and securing his elimination in 17th place.

While stacking his new chips, Hellmuth broke into a chorus of English New Wave band Tears For Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World". Hellmuth may not be ruling the world, but he is certainly ruling this room as this win boosts him to 2,000,000 and is good for the top spot on the chip counts.

Max Silver Eliminated in 16th Place (€32,256)

Max Silver - 16th Place
Max Silver - 16th Place

Joseph Cheong did not let Phil Hellmuth hold onto the limelight for long. Cheong has once again overtaken the chip lead after the following hand:

On a flop of {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{K-Spades}, Cheong checked to Max Silver who bet 28,000. Cheong called and the turn brought the {9-Diamonds}. Cheong checked for a second time and Silver fired 64,000. Once again Cheong decided to stick around.

The {A-Clubs} rolled off on fifth street and Cheong checked one last time. Silver moved 122,000 into the middle.

Cheong thought for a moment before plopping down a large stack of red t25,000 chips into the middle. This bet was enough to put Silver all in and he was visibly upset over the size of the bet.

"This is incredibly close," said Silver, who then pulled a coin out of his wallet to help him make his decision. Ultimately, Silver opted not to use the coin, and announced a call.

Cheong showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for a straight and Silver flung his cards into the muck. They were turned over to reveal {A-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for top two pair.

With his elimination of Silver, Cheong is now our chip leader with about 2,350,000 in chips.

David Benyamine Eliminated in 15th Place (€32,256)

David Benyamine - 15th
David Benyamine - 15th

After David Benyamine raised from middle position, Sergii Baranov called and the two took a flop of {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Benyamine put out a bet of 40,000, Baranov called, and the dealer burned and turned the {10-Spades}. This time Benyamine checked, but called when Baranov bet 80,000.

Benyamine checked for a second time on the {3-Spades} river, and Baranov spiked out a tall stack of red T25,000 chips, enough to cover Benyamine if he chose to call. The high-stakes pro thought for a moment and then committed his last 320,000. Baranov proceeded to proudly roll over {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for a full house, and Benyamine sent his cards to the muck before exiting in 15th place.

Kyle Julius Eliminated in 14th Place (€40,320)

The drama continues with huge elimination hands. Phil Hellmuth has once again regained the chip lead.

On a {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, Phil Hellmuth led out for 45,000 and his lone opponent Kyle Julius chose to flat call.

Fourth street brought the {A-Hearts} and Hellmuth quickly moved 110,000 into the middle.

Julius reached into his stack and put out a raise to 225,000.

"This is such a sick hand for me," lamented Hellmuth. "Alright, I call,"

The dealer pounded the table and rolled off the {4-Clubs} on the river. Hellmuth quickly checked and Julius announced that he was all in for his last 298,000. Hellmuth stood up from the table and stared at the board, talking the hand out to himself under his breath.

After about ninety seconds, Hellmuth counted out enough chips to call and pushed them forward.

"You're good," said Julius.

"YES!" yelled Hellmuth as he clapped his hands and jumped up from the table, showing {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for two pair. Julius mucked his hand but tournament staff forced it to be tabled - {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

"Great play, kid," said Hellmuth with a sincere tone to Julius. "Seriously. I almost laid that down. Remind me to buy you a bottle of Dom. One bottle."

Julius will take home €40,320 in tournament winnings while Hellmuth is now the chip leader with about 2.5 million in chips.

Toby Lewis Eliminated in 13th Place (€40,320)

Toby Lewis - 13th Place

In a pot that was raised preflop, Toby Lewis, Sergii Baranov, and Stephane Albertini saw a flop of {8-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Lewis and Baranov checked to Albertini who fired out a bet of 52,000.

Lewis counted out a raise to 145,000 and moved it into the center. Baranov got out of the way and Albertini announced all in. Lewis called for his tournament life and the hands were shown:

Albertini: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Lewis: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Albertini was way out in front after the flop and stayed the way when the {k-Hearts} fell on fourth and the {5-Clubs} on fifth. Lewis was eliminated in 13th place and will collect €40,320 for his efforts.

Aces vs. Jacks

Joseph Cheong raised to 24,000 from the hijack only to have Sergii Baranov three-bet to 60,000 from the button. Cheong made the call and then check-called a bet of 80,000 on the {Q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, which brought about the {9-Hearts} on the turn.

Both players proceeded to check, and the Cheong led out for 100,000 on the {7-Diamonds} river. Baranov snap-called and rolled over {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}, which beat the {J-}{J-} of Cheong.
