Rough Times For Roger

Roger Hairabedian has just lost a whole lot more, and this time it was Steve O'Dwyer who took some of his chips.

The board read {3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades} when Hairabedian check-called a 85,000-chip bet. On the river the {K-Spades} hit and Hairabedian checked again. O'Dwyer threw out 134,000 and Hairabedian went into the tank for several minutes.

Many times he seemed to be close to calling, and eventually he did. O'Dwyer tabled {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and with a full house he took down this pot. Hairabedian looked far from happy as he saw his stack dwindle down a lot.

Juanda Claims a Double Knock Out

Talal Shakerchi was very short and moved all in for 55,000 under the gun plus one. John Juanda called from the cuttoff as did Jean-Noel Thorel from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and immediately Thorel moved all in for 310,000. The Frenchman had a big smile on his face while Juanda was making up his mind.

"I'm not sure if I'm disciplined enough to fold this," Juanda said. Moments later he made the call.

Showdown:
Talal Shakerchi: {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
John Juanda: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}, {J-Hearts} and Juanda knocked out two players.

Two Hands Crush Gruissem

Tobias Reinkenmeier
Tobias Reinkenmeier

On back-to-back hands before the break, Philipp Gruissem's stack has been decimated down to just 25,000. The first he lost to David Benefield, and the second he lost to Tobias Reinkemeier. Here's what happened.

On the first hand, Benefield was all in preflop for 182,000 with the {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs} against Gruissem's {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The board ran out {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{K-Spades} to give Benefield the double up.

Then, Gruissem was involved in a three-way battle with Fabian Quoss and Reinkemeier on the {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. Gruissem was first and checked. That check was followed by a check from Quoss, and then Reinkemeier fired 54,000. Gruissem called, and Quoss folded.

The turn was the {Q-Hearts}, and Gruissem checked. Reinkemeier bet larger this time and wagered 78,000. Gruissem stuck right there with him and made the call to see the river.

The {A-Hearts} completed the board, and Gruissem checked. Reinkemeier moved all in for his last 225,000, and Gruissem called after letting out a big sigh and looking back at his cards one last time.

Reinkemeier turned over the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a flopped set of sixes. Gruissem showed the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a flopped set of threes, but it was a losing set. He shipped over the chips to Reinkemeier and was left with just about 25,000. Reinkemeier saw his stack shoot up to 850,000.
