"There Are Only Norwegians Here"

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Rainer Ziermann and Marcin Chmielewski witnessed a battle of the Norwegians on a board of {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} when Ola Berntsen checked and called a bet of 2,500 by Petter Berg. The {9-Diamonds} fell on the river and Berntsen checked again, then Berg moved all in for 6,125. Berntsen reluctantly called and mucked his {Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs} after Berg flipped over {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a set.

"There are only Norwegians here," Ziermann joked after the hand was over, and indeed plenty of the Scandinavians are taking part on day 1c of the MONSTER STACK.

Baric Barely Warms His Seat Up

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Ivan Baric just sat down in his seat and opened to 200 from early position. He was called by three players and the flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. The action was checked to Baric who continued for 6,00 and Georgios Vrakas raised to 2,000 directly to his left.

The small and big blind folded and the action was back on Baric. He re-raised to 6,000 and Vrakas shipped all-in for 17,025. Baric instantly made the call and tabled {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a straight. Vrakas turned over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a set of nines and would need to pair the board to stay alive.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and the river landed the {k-Spades} as Vrakas made his full house. Baric is now down to just 2,500 chips after the first hand he was dealt.

What Does the Fox(en) Say?!

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante
Muhamet Perati
Muhamet Perati

Alex Foxen had just sat down when he faced a raise to 200 by Salvatore Camarda. Foxen three-bet to 600 and Muhamet Perati as well as Camarda called. On the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop, Camarda checked and Foxen bet 900, which saw Perati raise to 2,900. That forced out Camarda, while Foxen called.

After the {Q-Spades} turn a second flush draw arrived and Foxen checked, Perati bet 5,600 and Foxen moved all in to see Perati call with a near identical stack.

Muhamet Perati: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Alex Foxen: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Foxen's two pair were in the lead but he had to dodge plenty of cards in order to double up. The {Q-Clubs} river was a blank and the stacks were counted, Perati was covered by a mere 100 chips.

Up to 201 Entries

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

The third and final starting day of the MONSTER STACK has already surpassed the number of entries for Day 1a and Day 1b, with fewer than 50 entries needed to reach the €500,000 guarantee from now on. Below are assorted notables that recently joined the field.

Halleux Takes a Seat and Busts Korochenskiy

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante
Anatoly Korochenskiy
Anatoly Korochenskiy

Fabrice Halleux just recently took his seat and has already made an impact at his new table. With the board reading {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}, Anatoly Korochenskiy led out for 2,100 from the big blind. Halleux raised to 7,225 from early position and Korochenskiy stuck in his remaining chips, around 8,000. Halleux easily called and showed {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Korochenskiy held {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for a straight but was sent to the rail by Halleux's full house.

Others that have made an appearance on Day 1C include Alex Foxen, Michael Magalashvili, and Muhamet Perati.

Drolsun's Nightmare with Pocket Kings

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

The first casualty of Day 1c is Vemund Drolsun. The Norwegian got involved in a raising war in a battle of the blinds with Yohan Zenou and both players already had multiple bets in when Drolsun made it 4,575 from the small blind. Zenou, who had chipped up early, clicked it back to 11,000 from the big blind and Drolsun moved all in to receive a snap-call.

Vemund Drolsun: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Yohan Zenou: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

"I have kings and he has aces," Drolson said while turning around to a friend over on the next table. The board came {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Drolsun found no help.

Crilly Chips Up Early

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

While Kenny Hallaert, Aylar Lie and Leonardo Armino just registered and sat down, Neil Crilly took down a nice pot towards the end of the first level. Crilly was in the big blind and his opponent checked back the {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs} river. Crilly was somewhat upset he could not get more value out of {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for flopped top set, but is nontheless off to a good start.

The screens currently show 183 entries.
