Bicknell Coolered, Given False Hope

Level 4 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

We came upon two players all in with aces and kings in front of them. It turned out Kristen Bicknell, who was under the gun, had gotten it in there with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}, and Paul Newey had her coolered from the next seat with {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. The {3-Spades}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop looked beautiful for Bicknell but an {a-Hearts} turn quashed her hopes. Paint completed the board but it was the {q-Hearts}.

Newey had about 580,000 and that covered Bicknell's 528,000.

Rainer Kempe Joins the Fray

Level 4 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The field for Event #9 is now 55 players strong, with 60 total entries so far. Rainer Kempe joined the field recently and just played a hand against Christian Christner.

He raised the button to 11,000 with Christner in the big blind. Christner called. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Christner checked to Kempe. Kempe bet 17,000 and Christner called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked. Both players checked again when the river paired the board with the {10-Hearts}. Christner showed only a busted straight draw holding {k-}{q-}. Kempe won the hand with {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

Sammartino Takes it All from Kisacikoglu

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Timothy Adams opened under the gun for 7,000 and got two callers before Christian Christner made it 30,000 in the cutoff. Adams mucked but both Dario Sammartino and Orpen Kisacikoglu called. The flop came {3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Christner bet 35,000. Kisacikoglu called but Sammartino made it 115,000 to go. Christner mucked with a sigh but Kisacikoglu counted out his stack and jammed for about 400,000. Sammartino quickly called.

Sammartino: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Kisacikoglu: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Kisacikoglu's flush hopes went down the drain right away when the {6-Hearts} hit the turn.

Kurganov Keeps Going Up, Knocks Out Bitoun and Kitai

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Igor Kugranov was the third player all in on a {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop. He retold the preflop action.

Three players were already in for 8,000 before Davidi Kitai raised to 36,000 on the button. Kurganov and Yair Bitoun both called.

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Kurganov checked. Bitoun raised all in for 230,000 and Kitai shoved over the top for about 550,000. Kurganov called both all ins and had both players covered. He was ahead with a set of twos holding {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Kitai had two pair with [{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Bitoun was in last place with only a pair holding {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} and the river was the {q-Clubs} and Kurganov eliminated both players and has already more than tripled his stack in about 20 minutes of play.

Saout and Badziakouski Battle in Long Hand

Level 3 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

In a hand that stretched well into the new level, Mikita Badziakouski appeared to complete the small blind and then limp-raise to 27,000 when Antoine Saout made it 8,000 to go. Saout called and they took in a {5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} flop. Badziakouski bet 30,000 and Saout called. On the {a-Clubs} turn, Badziakouski checked and called 70,000. The river brought a {7-Spades}. Badziakouski checked again and Saout bet 131,500.

Badziakouski took a deep breath and stretched. He counted out a call and then held on to the chips, tanking for a couple of minutes. Eventually, he smiled at his neighbor and mucked.
