The board read {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and the pot was about 16,000. The player on the button had bet 10,500 after a check by Eusebiu Jalba. Kanit Loses Some

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

Mustapha Kanit raised to 1,500 from the under-the-gun position and was called by the player in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, the big blind checked, Kanit bet 1,200, his opponent raised to 3,000 and Kanit called.

The turn brought them the {2-Clubs}, the big blind bet 3,500 and Kanit called again.

The river completed the board with the {7-Hearts}, now the big blind bet 5,500 and that sent Kanit into the tank. After a while, he called and mucked his cards when his opponent showed {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of nines.

Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho bet 1,500 on a {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop from middle position and Niall Farrell check-raised to 6,600 from the big blind. Ho thought awhile and put her whole stack of 9,800 in. Farrell called with {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Ho's {a-Spades}{5-Hearts} needed help, but the {6-Spades} and {10-Diamonds} provided none.

Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess raised to 1,300 from the cutoff and was called by the player in the small blind and Steven van Zadelhoff in the big blind.

The flop came {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}, both the small blind and Van Zadelhoff checked. Riess bet 2,000, the player in the small blind folded, Van Zadelhoff raised to 7,000 but then Riess three-bet to 19,700. Van Zadelhoff took some time to think but then made the call.

The turn brought them the {4-Diamonds}, Van Zadelhoff checked again. Riess now fired 21,100 and Van Zadelhoff looked at the board and the possibilities there. He decided to call.

The river completed the board with the {9-Hearts}, Van Zadelhoff checked for the final time, Riess took all his yellow 5,000-value chips and put them in as a bet which was around 65,000 which left him with around 3,000 behind. Van Zadelhoff went into the tank. After a minute or two he folded.

"Show one!" Van Zadelhoff said to Riess.

"Not during the WSOP Main Event." Riess replied while collecting the pot.
