Talbot Eliminates One; Still Not Happy

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Oleh Haisiuk had shoved from mid-position and so did Parker Talbot from the cutoff who had him covered. Action folded to Mathijs Jonkers in the big blind who folded but showed his neighbor, Stoyan Obreshkov, the cards before folding.

Parker Talbot: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Oleh Haisiuk: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} - no help for Haisiuk and he was eliminated in 50th place.

The dealer pushed the pot to Talbot and as he was stacking up his chips he heard that Jonkers had folded ace-king. Talbot was very unhappy about this fact but Obreshkov seemed very impressed that Jonkers was able to fold that. Talbot was more unhappy about how Jonkers could have folded and how Talbot could have had way more chips. After having told the whole table how unfair it all was, he went up to Niall Farrell to tell him what happened. And told maybe, even more, people around the tournament room.

Law Gets a Lucky Double

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Chun Ho Law got it in there with {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} for 90,000 but was put at risk by Ioannis Konstantinidis and his {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. The {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop did nothing for Law but the {k-Diamonds} turn put him in prime position to double. The {q-Spades} river ensured he'd do so.

Smyth Triples and Then Some

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Peter Smyth, who was recently moved off the feature table along with his tablemates Rainer Kempe and Maria Ho, just added quite a few chips to his stack.

The first hand, he was part of a multi-way pot which found him all in for 131,000. Michal Mrakes called, but Marc MacDonnell raised all in causing Mrakes to fold.

MacDonnell had {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Smyth was racing with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Smyth tripled up.

"What are these!?" he said as he brought in his newly found chips.

"What am I supposed to do with these?"

The next hand, the action folded to Smyth in the small blind.

"I haven't had a walk in three days," he told Maria Ho who was in the big blind.

He raised.

"I'm going to make it twenty-three," he said betting 23,000.

Ho called and the flop came {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Smyth announced a continuation bet of 34,000.

Ho folded and Smyth added a few more chips to his growing stack.

Anthony Zinno bet 55,000 from the button on a board of {9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, only for Niall Farrell to shove all in from middle position. Zinno quickly mucked, preserving his last 150,000.

Neuville Eliminated

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

We aren't sure when the money went in, but we do know Pierre Neuville flopped two pair with {a-}{7-} on the final hand he would play. Unfortunately for him, Luis Rodriguez had a set of kings on the flop as well and running queens gave him a boat to boot.

Leslie Eliminated by Boghean

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

John Leslie was just eliminated by Andrei Boghean holding {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} against Boghean's {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{J-Spades} - no help for Leslie as Boghean hit his deuce on the turn for two pair, fives and deuces. Leslie was eliminated in 54th place.

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The flop on the board read {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Gianluca Speranza and Anthony Zinno checked in the blinds. Marti Roca De Torres bet 26,000 from the hijack. Speranza called but Zinno folded.

They both checked through the {7-Spades} and the {4-Spades} to complete the board. Speranza tabled {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} which was enough to take the pot as Roca De Torres mucked his hand.
