Honnefeller Holds with Kings

Andreas Mages limped in from early position and Karsten Honnefeller made it 18,000 to go in the hijack. The action folded back to Mages who made the call. The flop came {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Mages check-called a bet of 28,000 from Honnefeller.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Mages checked again. Honnefeller down-sized with a bet of 20,000 and Mages shoved all in. Honnefeller called off his stack of 105,000 and the cards were tabled.

Mages showed {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for top pair and a straight draw but Honnefeller was out front with {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. The river was the {a-Spades} and Honnefeller doubled through Mages, who was left with just 3,000. Mages was eliminated from the tournament in the next hand.
