From a starting field of 1,789, just 20 players remain after Day 2 of Event #1: €350 Opener at the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE).

Such was the size of the field, the original plan to play until a final table was reached was scrapped and 14 levels were on the menu instead. By the end of what was a gruelling day, Volodymyr Legkyi has bagged the chip lead. He eliminated Dennis Magro late in the day in a pot of over four million chips to eventually bag 6,775,000.

Behind him comes Narcis Nedelcu (6,145,000) and Robert [Removed:345] (4,480,000) who are the only players over four million in chips.

Day 2 Recap

A total of 379 players returned for Day 2, but only 269 of them were guaranteed to cash. Bracelet winners Espen Sandvik and Sebastian Langrock would both bust short of the money, before Grzegorz Wyraz became the unfortunate bubble boy after blinding down to just 1,000 chips and busting.

Players who made the money included 2019 Opener champion Renat Bohdanov (229th - €531), Tobias Peters (225th - €531), Sandro Pitzanti (179th - €664), Jan Bendik (176th - €664), Michal Mrakes (169th - €664), Day 1b chip leader Zdenko Slavik (136th - €701), Claudio Celenza (111th - €749) and Day 1a chip leader Marc Meden (33rd - €2,009).

The remaining 20 players will all return tomorrow at 1 p.m. local time to play down to a winner.

Magro called and they both saw the flop {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

Magro checked and Legkyi bet 300,000. Magro shoved all-in for 2,200,000 and got snap-called by Legkyi who had flopped a set with pocket tens {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Magro was drawing very thin with pocket fours {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. The turn {2-Diamonds} and the river {2-Spades} didn't change anything and Magro finished 25th.
