Adamszki Jams Into Tabacaru

Level 9 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Tamas Adamszki raised to 20,000 from under the gun and was called by Ion Tabacaru on the button and Anton Morgenstern in the big blind. The {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Spades} flop was checked and Morgenstern checked the {j-Diamonds} turn. Adamszki bet 45,000 and Tabacaru was the only caller.

After the {k-Hearts} river, Adamszki checked and Tabacaru bet 70,000 with 280,000 behind. One minute passed and Adamszki then jammed with the superior stack for Tabacaru to tank-fold and expose his {a-Clubs} for broadway. Adamszki showed his cards as well as he flopped over the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for trips queens.

Eelis Pärssinen
Eelis Pärssinen

Eelis Pärssinen got his stack of 271,000 in against Ole Schemion and was in need of help with the inferior hand.

Eelis Pärssinen: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Ole Schemion: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

"That's a good start", the Finn admitted when the {k-Hearts} appeared right in the window. It was followed by the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} on the flop. After the {10-Hearts} turn, Pärssinen improved to kings and tens, which left Schemion with four outs to broadway. Another blank followed with the {7-Diamonds} river and Pärssinen doubled.

Thomer Pidun: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} board brought no ace or broadway cards and Pidun doubled.

Adamszki Eliminated; Stokkan Back In

Level 9 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Tamas Adamszki
Tamas Adamszki

Tony Tran raised to 15,000 and instantly called the shove by a short-stacked Tamas Adamszki out of the small blind.

Tamas Adamszki: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Tony Tran: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Adamszki gained some equity on the {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop but ran out blank on the {5-Spades} turn and {10-Hearts} river to ht the rail. The table now also features Preben Stokkan, who had been eliminated previously and subsequently re-entered.

Jouhkimainen Continues to Rise

Level 9 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Andrea Ricci made it 16,000 to go and Joni Jouhkimainen called on the button. Christopher Puetz then three-bet to 70,000 in the small blind and that got rid of Ricci. Jouhkimainen, however, splashed in four T-100,000 chips which covered Puetz. When he received no snap-call, the Finn jokingly played upset and Puetz then sent his cards into the muck a few seconds later.

Grospellier Off to a Bad Start

Level 9 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Only a few meters away from the location where he won his second WSOP gold bracelet, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is taking part in Event #10: €25,000 NLH Platinum High Roller. The start into Day 1 has not been as pleasant so far as he lost almost half of his stack.

In the latest hand, Elias Gutierrez min-raised from under the gun and Grospellier flat-called in the cutoff. The flop brought {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and was checked by both players. On the {j-Spades} turn, Gutierrez bet 30,000 and that won the pot right there.

Zhong Chen

With 213,000 in the middle in a blind battle between Zhong Chen and Johan Guilbert, the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} turn was checked by the former and Guilbert checked it back. There was no betting action on the {9-Clubs} river either and Chen tabled the {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for trips eights. That was good enough to win the pot as Guilbert sent his cards into the muck.

The Guarantee Has Been Surpassed

Level 8 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The high-stakes contest came with a guarantee of €1,000,000 and the re-entry of Oleh Okhotskyi has increased the total field size to 43 entries, which made sure there is no sweat at all to surpass the guarantee.

Okhotskyi proceeded to receive a boost to his stack on the second bullet right away as he knocked out Bernd Gleissner.
